Two questions in one, to save some space! The questions are in bold, as I write too much so you can skip to them easier! After a recent fall-through with obtaining an x20 for a cheap price (too good to be true basically!), I was looking at the x10 as a compromise. In a forum post someone mentioned the MX-1, and after reading reviews (and watching Blunty's fawning video) I've kinda fell in love. I was just having a look at my new Pentax Q7, and noticed that when I bring up the firmware version screen, it only shows the body firmware, and doesn't report the lens firmware at all - is this usual? I'm used to seeing the lens firmware reported also on the Q and Q10. I tried a couple of other lenses on it, and it was the same in all cases (all of them have the most up-to-date firmware already installed, if that has any effect on this). I should add that it appears to be working OK. Thanks.
I'm about to order a Markins Q10 to use with a Gitzo GT2541 which I recently bought. Reviews I have read are all good apart from one point which seems to keep coming up ie. the panning lock doesn't lock solid and still allows for some movement. These comments seem to relate to the M10 which I believe was the forerunner to the Q10. Has anyone experience of the Q10? I will use it with a D700 & D300s and lenses up to 70-200f2.8 but occasionally with a 300f2.8 which I believe it will hold ok. The...
