Hello everybody! I have bought some day ago a Metz 52 AF-1 for my K-x. The behaviour of the flash seems erratic. Half of the shots are good (or even underexposed 1 stop). The other half results from a heavily underexposed to almost black; these shots are unusable. I wonder if it is the flash in error or the match between camera and flash. Gear tested: K-x + (16-45 or 18-250) + ISO 400. Thanks!

Hello, I used Nikon D5000, Pentax K-x and Sony A65. Now i want to use either Sony a7 or Pentax  K5IIS. I have some good M42 lenses to use with either of them but i need some advice about both cameras from who used both of them to check the advantages and disadvantages of both even they are belong to different kinds (Full frame and APS-C frame) with regards.

Just got myself a K-5 IIs. I have couple of doubts regarding the camera. 1. When I switch the camera on, some kind of scratching sound comes from the camera. First I thought it is dust removal, but then I turned startup dust removal off and the sound is still there every time I turn on the camera. 2. Viewfinder is very warm compared to my K-x. When I compare both side by side, K-x viewfinder shows colors that are much closer to actual whereas K-5 IIs viewfinder is warm. Any...

I have a Pentax ist DL and a K-x. As I live in Brazil it is very difficult to find Pentax equipment here. Now I have the opportunity of buy an used K-7 with 30,000 shutter actuations and 18-55WR for a good price. How does the K-7 compare with the K-x, AF, IQ, etc.? What about to change the ist DL or K-x by the K-7? Thanks, Danton

Hello I have a Pentax K-x camera and an AF-540FGZ flash. I bought a Hama flash bracket. https://www.hama.com/00006812/hama-flash-bracket-30-x-180-mm I wish to mount the camera and the flash side by side and use the internal K-x flash as trigger master for fill-in, and the 540FGZ as the slave bounce whenever a reflective ceiling/surface near is available. If not, use the internal and 540FGZ direct in tandem. My problem: Since the Hama bracket is not dedicated 540FGZ only works in Automatic...

Hi all, I bought the Sigma 50-500 DG APO HSM last sping and used it extensively through the summer and fall but it's been mostly idle this winter (very cold here in the NE US). I did take it out on a few very cold days but made sure NOT to use the autofocus, having read about some problems with that in cold weather. Yesterday it was sunny and we got a few degrees above freezing so I used autofocus quite a bit. I wasn't terribly pleased with any of the results, but my subjects were mostly...

Maybe I'm a little spoiled...  I've had my K-x for a few years now and I really like it quite a bit.  I still have the kit lens, and for general stuff it's OK.  But trying to do some product shots with a blown out background or any shot where the background is bright yields some unpleasantness - I don't know if the coating is bad or it's a poor lens design or what, but the contrast goes in the crapper with backlight.  In general, things also seem a bit soft. Before entering the digital realm,...

It would make perfect sense to be able to have one control dial control shutter speed, the other ISO and for the aperture ring to control aperture. I can't seem to configure this behaviour though. I can set the control dials to control the appropriate parameters in Tv mode, but that doesn't work with non-A lenses and in any case isn't designed for what I want. The only options for M mode are which dial does aperture and which shutter speed. If you use a manual lens, one control dial becomes...
