My model studio photos when viewed on screen in PS are very clean and smooth. When I down size them to 5X7 at 96 DPI for the internet they loose their smoothness. I am using jpg at the highest quality and rgb. Any tips for downsizing without loss in quality ?

Hi all, since some time I'm looking for an ILC camera and I've narrowed down the choice to three cameras:The Canon 7D, Pentax K-5 II and the Sony A6000. I now these cameras quite differ from each other! What's (do I think) important for me?- Good autofocus and some tracking capabilities- Video features- Nice out-of-the-camera colours in JPEG: I've better things to do than correcting colours of family pictures in post – but setting the exposure manually shouldn't be a problem. And for really...

Hello fellow Pentax bird shooters. I have not posted in a while because I've been tied up with other things. I'd appreciate your advice based on your experience (not test charts) in photographing birds, and specifically BIF. Please note that I have spent several hours searching this forum and others and have seen many examples of what Pentax and other brands can do in the BIF department. However, the pricing on the K3 in particular now is pressing me to consider options and if I'm going to...

Can anyone confirm, deny, or comment on: Any differences in corner/edge sharpness on these lenses when paired with the K5 II vs. the K5 IIs? The background is that I am not satisfied with the AF on my k5 and plan to upgrade to a K5II or K5 IIs now that the prices have come down. The question is, get the k5 IIs for potentially improved corner sharpness on the wide angles or save the cash and just get the K5 II. Anyone notice their corners of their DA 15 sharpen up noticeably with the K5...

Before the digitals came out, I was perfectly happy with my Pentax 645.  Anyway, I just picked up a Pentax K-5 II. I am currently using my 150 mm and 75 mm 645 lenses and a Carl Zeiss 45 mm pancake lens, all with adapters.  All work fine. I want to know does my focal length and field of view change when I use these lenses.  This would change the settings if changes take place.

Since moving to m4/3, I'm using my K5 only with Tamron 70-200/2.8. It's a fantastic combo when AF hits the target, however the consistency of the AF is rather disappointing, especially when shooting at f2.8-3.5 in non-perfect lighting conditions. I do know that the K5II AF is a major step forward compared to K5, however I would like to ask the owners of the K5II/s and Tamron 70-200mm about their experience and if they see a noticeable improvement over K5 with this particular lens. Do you...

About a year ago, I purchased a Pentax K-5 II with 18-135 mm lens after using a Canon A710 since 2006. Perhaps it is the multitude of new settings on this camera compared to the Canon, or perhaps it is because I am still a beginner, but I cannot seem to get my pictures to be sharp at all four corners in addition to the center--basically, simply sharp everywhere. I do not recall this being much of a problem with the Canon, though admittedly I have much higher expectations for this camera, and...

Hi all, I live in the bush in Africa and and my requirements are for a Tough (with a purposeful capital T) camera that can handle high ISO. I particularly shoot 'street' and portrait. (Street in inverted commas because actual streets are in short supply). I have been shooting Pentax for about 7 years and they are tough as nails. The K II is serving me well but for one thing, I cannot get satisfactorily sharp shots with the lens setups I have. (Since you ask, yes I have been careful. I locked...

Have a ME Super which I haven't used in about 10 years when I switched to a point and shoot. Want to make the move to a DSLR. Debating between and K50 & K5 II or IIs. Prefer to save money for more lenses and accessories than move up to a K3. I mostly like doing outdoor photography -landscape/scenic shots and close ups of flowers/bugs. Still have my Tokina 50 – 200 mm lens with a 2X converter. Looking for  anice macro lens. Are the kit lenses worthwhile? Should I be considering a different...
