Sony should allow the shutter button to be selected to start/stop video. This would allow the use of a wireless RF remote, wired remote as well as the cell phone. Using a cell phone is clumsy for me and the other option is to start the video by pressing misplaced start/stop button, causing camera shake. My IR RMT-DSLR2 doesn't even support video and the cameras don't have a IR receiver in the back where it is most needed anyway. Maybe someone from Sony will read this and wake up. Otherwise I...

Hi Everyone, I just converted from PC to Mac and at the same time subscribed to Adobe CC6. I immdiately had major problems with my RAW files and discovered (after a lot of heartache and detective work) that there is a problem using the DNG RAW format I had always used and never had problems with on my PC. I changed to PEF format for my photos and have had no problems since. Does the K5 support PEF format? Thanks in advance!

Folks, I've searched a bit on this forum for info about the 'pixel shift' functionality and post-processing of the images, can't seem to find very much definitive info.....maybe the camera is so new few actually have it in hand (?).   I'm thinking of moving from K-5 to this new K-3 II model but after reading the note on Adobe's recent camera raw 9.1 release I am a bit wary as Adobe states the support of both (RAW) HDR and Pixel Shift modes are 'under investigation'.  Maybe this is not an...

Hi guys! I've never done Astrophotography before. I've also just sold sold all my Samsung NX gear to go back to DSLR as I can't stand the digital Viewfinders and I need something grippier in my hand. In Mid July, my son, my wife and I are going to Denmark on his first holiday. We're going to Rømø, where my wife has been four years ago in September and she told me about being able to see the milky way with the naked eye when standing on the beach. I want to photograph this really badly......

Folks, Give me some input if you are able. I am shooting my 2nd autocross event soon and would like to make some improvement over my last attempt - I'm not one who normally shoots moving objects, so very limited on actual experience here. Last time a got a small handful of good shots. I use a Pentax K5 aps-c camera with 60-250mm F/4 lens, handheld. The cars are not moving real fast, 30-50 MPH and I can get close enough to the course that my lens has very sufficient reach at 200mm+ focal...

Folks, I am a landscape guy; I shoot with a 4 year old K-5. I'm going to take some pic's soon at an autocross event, I plan to use my 60-250 (pentax) lens; I can get pretty close to the cars so I know this lens has the needed reach. Only shot this type of thing once before; from my records I shot at ISO 200 (this is a daytime event) and full 16 Mp resolution, ugh. I can't recall how I handled the focusing but I know in looking over some old shots that more than a few were a tad bit off. No...

Hi All, I think this is a repeated question but I am still excited to ask: What lenses are recommended fro GM5? I am going for 9 day trip in North Japan and would like to bring a new gear (after I have dropped my K5 on the ground). I chose GM5 because it is light.... The lenses I am planning to buy: 15mm/1.7, 25mm/1.4, 12-35/2.8 +/- 35-100/2.8 if financially allowed. Other suggestions? Thx Wilson

Hello, Long time lurker here, and first, thank you to all contributors for providing so much helpful information. Let me start by saying I have a knack for making things much more complicated than they are. So, to make a mountain out of a molehill…. I upgraded to a K-3 a couple months ago, and have enjoyed exploring the new features as well as revisiting features I’d bypassed on my K-5. Previously I shot exclusively in RAW, but with the K-3’s fast burst rate (and longer processing time), I’ve...
