So I bought a Panasonic FZ200 a few months ago, and the other day I was finally able to test it out for its intended purpose at Trudeau Airport in Montreal. The results concern me. I took very similar shots with both my Pentax K-5 and the FZ200. I am posting them so you can see what I am concerned about. What I hope to learn is if these grainy results are the result of some correctable error, or if this is just the way it goes, or worse, that maybe I have a bad FZ200 copy. Please enlarge each...
Can anyone confirm, deny, or comment on: Any differences in corner/edge sharpness on these lenses when paired with the K5 II vs. the K5 IIs? The background is that I am not satisfied with the AF on my k5 and plan to upgrade to a K5II or K5 IIs now that the prices have come down. The question is, get the k5 IIs for potentially improved corner sharpness on the wide angles or save the cash and just get the K5 II. Anyone notice their corners of their DA 15 sharpen up noticeably with the K5...
Hi, Maybe the only thing that really annoys me with my k5 (ok other than the delay while long-pressing the OK button to switch the four-way controller over from the quick access buttons to AF selection) is that sometimes when I turn the rear dial in AV mode, I don't get the expected aperture adjustment in relation to the number of clicks I've turned the rear dial. If I had previously been doing something in a different mode or screen on the camera (reviewing the last image shot, for...
I'm primarily a Canon user but recently got a Pentax k5 added to my arsenal. I already owned a Sigma Mini-Wide II Multi-Coated 28mm f/2.8 lens and been using it on my k5 and I'm reading about the Ricoh pin. Its a rounded head, no issues going on the body or coming off from what I experienced so far...is it safe?
Since moving to m4/3, I'm using my K5 only with Tamron 70-200/2.8. It's a fantastic combo when AF hits the target, however the consistency of the AF is rather disappointing, especially when shooting at f2.8-3.5 in non-perfect lighting conditions. I do know that the K5II AF is a major step forward compared to K5, however I would like to ask the owners of the K5II/s and Tamron 70-200mm about their experience and if they see a noticeable improvement over K5 with this particular lens. Do you...
I usually shoot with M mode by setting the exposure according to the position of EV bar in OVF. And I used to having the EV bar at -1 (under exposure), and Auto EV Compensation OFF. Everything was OK until one day of last month, when I found the LCD on my K5-IIs was so bright that it washed out the whole image, if I do Live View, Instant Review and Playback the images I am taking. Then I adjusted the LCD Display Settings to Brightness -3, Contrast +3. The Playback of images is acceptable now,...
Good morning from Canada, I am, as my profile indicates retired and will be spending a lot of my time painting......any subject material. My requirements are to have a faster AF, wider ISO, reliability and weather protection vs the ISD which I have now (and still love) I have been saving up for a K-3 camera to maybe buy in early 2015. So now I pose the questions; Seeing the K-5 11s is very affordable now vs the K3 (still out of reach) would it be the most practical for my purposes, ie fast...
So I have potentially narrowed down my choices here after some help over the past day. After learning both cameras will offer AF adjust, and knowing they both have the same Prism OVF and IQ, I checked prices. They both sell used for about the same, The k30 is going for $425 new on Amazon, while the K50 is $450 new everywhere but with a memory card for free. Calling the price a wash, is there much different between the two? DPR doesn't do much good as I can't find an individual review to...
