I would like to have one camera with a optical VF, the Pentax series seems to has the brightest OVF in the price range I am interested in. I am vacillating between the K30 and K50 ( rechargeable AA's ) anyone with any suggestions/tips please respond. I intend to use it primarily with a Sigma 50mm F2.8 macro Thank you, Ziji

Hello, I need you suggestion for my next purchase. I have the opportunity to get, for about the same price (660€) a pentax K30 with the following options: K30 + DA 18-135 WR + 4 Yr Warranty K30 + DA 18-55 WR + DA 55-300 WR + 2 Yr Warranty Both options have their strenght and weakness: Option 1 is more a walk aroud setup plus give me a better warranty cover Option 2 give me more reach at the cost of an higher frequency lens swap and less warranty cover Initially I was leaning toward the...

I currently own the K10D and am looking with envy at the K-30 or K-50 models for their larger pixel count and much improved high iso performance, amongst other things. However I did wonder if the improved high iso was at the expense of base iso? I'd appreciate some feedback from users who have upgraded from the K10D. Besides being a bit bigger are the raw files just as clean at base iso? Are they just as maleable in post work?

So I have potentially narrowed down my choices here after some help over the past day. After learning both cameras will offer AF adjust, and knowing they both have the same Prism OVF and IQ, I checked prices. They both sell used for about the same, The k30 is going for $425 new on Amazon, while the K50 is $450 new everywhere but with a memory card for free. Calling the price a wash, is there much different between the two? DPR doesn't do much good as I can't find an individual review to...

I used to have a K5IIs, and I know that one has it. I also figure the K3 does too, but what about cheaper models? Does the K50 or K500? What about the DC'd K30? Anybody know? --"Run to the light, Carol Anne. Run as fast as you can!"

Hi everyone, i finally got to change my camera and upgrade to a DSLR. First I thought my choiche would have been between a Canon and a Nikon, and then I found out that Canon does not perform very well in the Mid-Entry Level. And I also found out that Pentax, with, K-30 outperforms over other competitors in its price range. So (I thought) I had to chose between Pentax K-30 and D5200 (that was actually my first choice). When asking to some more competent friends, though, turns out that there is...

Hi all, I'm considering my first dSLR and coming from a combination of a Nokia Lumia 920 phone (crazy good pics considering it's a phone) and an old Panasonic Lumix Z28 superzoom. *LOVE* the telephoto reach of the Z28, but I've never been entirely happy with the color it captures and it's not quite as versatile as I'd like. My primary uses for a new camera are: Landscape & Nature - lots of outdoor shots, water, clouds, etc. and hiking in the mountains Wildlife - this was the main reason I...

I've had a camera now for over a year, Pentax k-30.  I'm looking to get a flash that I can use to give me a lot more options for lighting portraits and still life.  But I know very little about them, what do other people find the most useful features on their flashes, are there any features that are a must have?  I'd like something that can be used both on camera and off camera, give me your best suggestions and why Cheers.

I just inherited two lenses and have no DSLR body on which to put them. The only camera body I have is an old Pentax SLR (on which these don't fit) and although that is nice when I want to shoot film, I've decided that the time has come to buy a DSLR on which these lenses fit.  These are the lenses: Auto Rikenon 1:2 f=50mm Kenlock SS Auto 1:2.8/28 52mm That's all the information which is written on them, which as you can probably tell, I don't really understand. Therefore, I would love it if...
