Hello all, Please forgive me if this is a super dump question. I googled it but could not find any straight forward answer. I started wide field astrophotography last summer. Beginner things such as capturing milkyway and shooting star trails etc. I always wanted to get a picture of Andromeda galaxy as it is probably one of the easiest galaxies to capture without using tracking mount or expensive telescopes. I saw a bunch of videos on youtube about shooting Andromeda Galaxy with a 200mm...

Is it possible to put Nikon D5's eyepiece to Pentax K series especially K-1? Well D5's eyepiece seem to be big which provide better view compare to rectangular eyepiece that I'm using with K-3.

Leaving pixel shift out of this, I noticed just the colors as shown in the dpreview studio shot are very different between the K-3 and K-3ii. The reds in the K-3ii are considerably more muted, skin tones especially look a lot less plastic as a result. The sharpening algorithm in the K-3ii seems more sophisticated. The K-5ii is only available in the old studio test scene, but as far as I can tell the default saturation is really high, and both reds and greens almost fluorescent. It seems...

Hi all, I've been reading some interesting articles about finding stolen cameras including searching for images that contain the serial number of your camera or your name in the "photographer" fields of the EXIF or IPTC data. Using ACDSee I am not seeing any entry in the field for serial number for my Pentax K3 or K3 II. I downloaded PhotoME and that seems to agree that one of my raw DNG files does indeed not contain a serial number. Can this be right? I heard that the K7 does indeed record...

I have a K-3ll and just received a Sigma EF-500ST flash. Its in very good shape, but did not come with a manual. So my question is what is the difference between the two modes MH and ML? Hi all, despite my good intentions to stick with my perfectly good kit of one K-3 and one K-3ii I am finding myself inexorably drawn to the K-1! Some doing some investigation. I own the 16 to 45 F4 DA and the 60 to 250 F4 DA* lenses. These are my two workhorse lenses. I also own a 35mm 2.4 DA lens and the 100 mm macro 2.8 as well as a 50 mm F2 A lens all of which I'm pretty sure we'll work on the full frame. But these first two the 16 to 45 and the 60 to 250, does anyone know how well they...

Is the Yongnuo YN560III a good choice for my K-3ll? I believe it is TTL. is about $64 thru Amazon with free shipping. Also I see the Neewer TT660 for Pentax what is nice the zoom function goes from 18-180 which would be good for my 18-135mm lens. Will this lens work on my K-3ll using catch-in-focus? If I do a search for one of these exactly how is it called? Which one is the latest? Thanks, Tom Wret --...a bad picture is like a missed putt, it's never your fault.http://photographybythomaswhitehurst.zenfolio.com
