Hi! I'm a 21 years old student from Quebec and I have been saving money for a long time and I feel ready to invest in a better camera. I do a bit of everything but what I like best is mostly landscapes ( Mountains, Lake, etc). I am also fascinated by night shots (milky way, cities, etc). But I would also like to find a camera that would still be good if I need to do a bit of everything . For now, my budget is $1500 max and I would like to have advice on which one I should buy. With the kit...
I tend to exposure bracket a lot of these type of shots, especially interiors, and blend them in post. When using the pixel shift feature on the k-3ii, would I have to shoot one shot at a time, probably with the flu card enabled app in order to not shake the camera between shots on a tripod, or can you still bracket shots? Also, does anyone know if you can shift the sensor, a.k.a. mini-shift lens effect, then use pixel shift as well? I am trying to determine if the workflow becomes...
So I started with Pentax some years ago with a K-r, drawn in by the small limited lenses nobody else was making. I then progressed to the k-01, and have the da 15, 35macro, 40mm, as well as a Sigma 10-20 and 30mm f1.4 and some random older Pentax lenses. I've been really struggling to decide to stay with Pentax or go to something like the em-1 or G7. I shoot two subjects, architecture interiors and exteriors, and my little kids. I recently bought a Ricoh GR and a lx100, which I use as small...
Hello, Long time lurker here, and first, thank you to all contributors for providing so much helpful information. Let me start by saying I have a knack for making things much more complicated than they are. So, to make a mountain out of a molehill…. I upgraded to a K-3 a couple months ago, and have enjoyed exploring the new features as well as revisiting features I’d bypassed on my K-5. Previously I shot exclusively in RAW, but with the K-3’s fast burst rate (and longer processing time), I’ve...
I've been eyeing a new camera for years and have been impressed with the K-3 ever since it came out. I'm now traveling to Peru for the summer and am ready to take the plunge. I'm heading down on a scholarship to work on Hispanic and Latin American cultural studies. The goal is to bring back imagery and other information to use in elementary and high school lessons. I'm planning on taking a lot of landscape and street photography with a mix of portrait or people shots. I need some help...
I have seen and also used Pentax K-3 camera few months ago, I really like the specification vs price ratio of Olympus DSLRs... If the news is true I will buy a secondary FF system for sure http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/rumor-has-it-pentax-will-use-the-sony-36mp-ff-sensor-for-their-first-digital-ff /
Occasionally, the autofocus will suddenly lock up on my K-3. When I press the shutter release button sometimes the AF will lock up without focusing. The focus indicator in the viewfinder remains lit as it it is supposed to when focus is achieved but the red light in the screen where the focus points are does NOT light up. The shutter will release but the lens will not focus. This locked status remains stuck for five seconds or more and then eventually returns to normal focusing operation. It...
I think my search skills are not up to scratch, but I could not find the information. Anyway ... I need to finetune AF on both my K10D and K-5; for the latter because the +10 adjustment no longer seems to cut it for a number of lenses. K10D V1.30The AF test menu has an entry for an af area test; I can select numbers from 0 to 3. What are they? K-5 V1.16 (if not mistaken)Except for af area test, the AF test menu also has an entry for af area number; I can elect numbers from 0 to 10. What are...
