I'm new to photography and think I might just found a good camera for me. I know K-3s are quality builds and have almost 200,000 shutter actuations. But, because I'm a newbie, I need second opinions from advanced photography users, so to speak. What is your opinion about 3200 shutter counts on K-3s? How many counts of shutter would an average camera enthusiast take in a month? 3000 shots, is it like-new? or is it just NEW? Thanks a lot for your help!
Hello everyone, a K-3 owner posting for the first time here. I have normally used prime lenses, but went and got an 18-135mm for general use at events. Unfortunately the edge sharpness on this lens is not to my personal taste. Can anyone recommend from personal experience a standard range zoom that has good sharpness across the frame? It does not need to have the same range as the 18-135, especially at the telephoto end. My other option is to plug the hole in my prime lens line-up by getting...
Hello there, I'm new to Pentax having just bought a K-S2 and a K-3 11. I'm looking for a compatible inexpensive flashgun for occasional use. Does anybody know if the Metz Af 44-1 is compatible or any other suggestions would be appreciated. Regards and thanks in advance.
Our marketing department has a somewhat limited budget for a new camera and lenses. I have researched the K-3ll and find that it would be ideal for our needs, especially, the pixel-shift feature. Our scientific instrumentation products range in size from a large appliance to a that of a dime. What I'm after are recommendations of two nice lenses to cover these product sizes. A tele and a macro of best suitable focal lengths, if you will. Thanks!
So I'm going on trip where I expect to take a lot of pictures with my K-3ii. Normally, I capture JPEG in SD1 and RAW in SD2. I use the JPEG when I'm traveling but only download the RAW files when I get home. I have several high speed 16G and 32G SD cards, and one high speed 128 microSD card with adapter. For this trip, I'm thinking of putting my 32G SD card in SD1 and the 128G MicroSD in SD2. But wondering if a MicroSD card in an adapter works as well as a standard SD card? Using the...
At B&H, there were some Pentax cameras including K-1 and K-3ii. Personally I didn't like the color tone that K-1 created(24-105mm). On the other hand, K-3ii with 35mm f2.4 had wonderful color tone compare to K-1. Both had same set ups btw. Is it just because of different lenses mounted on both camera? I was thinking to get K-3ii or K-3 cause K-1 is still expansive To me for now. Will each lenses provide different color tone and pic style slightly?

Hi everyone, with a Sony I am able to take multiple exposures for a panorama by sweeping the camera around the scene that I want to capture as the camera takes exposures every half second or so. I think that Sony calls this feature "sweep panorama". The Sony then automatically stitches the various photos together into a single panorama. Is it possible to do this with a K-3 or K-1? I was able to find how to take multiple exposures on a K-3, but they create a ghosting overlay effect instead of...
Greetings! I have a D90 which has (and continues) to serve me relatively well. It tends to back focus a bit, but overall image quality is still good. I do, however, dislike the shutter sound. The camera is just loud. I am thus considering an upgrade to a D7100 or switching to a mirrorless system such as the Sony A6000 or an Olympus OM-D. I am drawn to the size of the mirrorless, but I very much like the quality of the Nikon system. I asked on the Nikon Forum about the D7100 and was told it...
