I'm using this camera for 1 year now. Great first SLR. I've made thousands of pictures in often very harsh environment and it coped with almost everything. Bought it very cheap before the k200d went out. Very pleased for the price. Problems: Batteries - AA batteries were huge advantage for me on long trips to wilderness as I could take as many batteries as I wanted. BUT!!! The camera doesn't like them!!! It happens more and more that I switch on the camera and it says "the batteries ...

Overall a good camera! I like low noise on big ISO. I like shake reduction. I enjoy in-camera image post processing. Shutter could be little quieter. Good thing is to use AA rechargeables, i can swap them from flash to camera. I hope Pentax will improve fps and prohibit dust penetration into viewfinder, which happened to mine K100Super (not shure how to take it out). Problems: Had to repair autofocus on warranty, which broke without a reason. As weird it can be, have problems with dust on the ...

A great camera for its money! Liked the usability a lot - I hadn't any questions and didn't need to look into the manual to change the settings. Has a good/fast autofocus and pretty real colors. I like it! You can see my pictures shot with it here: http://flickr.com/photos/beshur/tags/pentax/

This is a camera that just feels right in your hands! I bought my K100D Super at Christmas and have now had the chance to use it for a few months. It is my first DSLR after coming from a bridge camera (Fuji S5600), and i was also looking at the Canon 400D and Nikon D40X. Three things swung it for me when originally purchasing: 1) It takes AA batteries 2) It gives you access to a huge back catalogue of lenses 3) It felt really good in my hands The last was what finally swung it, it really does ...

Very simply, the flexibility, quality, and price of this system is without parallel. I have shot a number of challenging automotive racing events during challenging lightening conditions and this camera has always performed well, even in using 20 year old $20 glass purchased from eBay. Portraits are warm. SR is outstanding. ISO 1600 which I use frequently still looks brilliant. I have toted this camera around for Rally car racing events and in all kind of harsh conditions without any ...

Only problems with this camera, from the beginning. I've bought Pentax K100D Super in november 2007. Now my camera is second time in service. Problems: I've got lot of underexposed, dark photos, with poor contrast and unnatural colours. Even on a sunny day camera has problems with white balance (yellow/brown cast) and exposure. Blue sky looks gray on photographs taken by my Pentax. It's hard to make corrections, because camera's LCD "lies" -almost all photos look quite good on this screen ...

I've owned this entry level DSLR for approximately 5 months - so far I'm fairly impressed, particularly with what you get for the money. The build is solid and the camera fairly weighty despite its dimensions, the CCD-shift shake reduction in the body is nice as is the dust removal. Some users may yearn for more control on the outside of the body in the form of a second wheel if they shoot in full manual or a programmable button for something like white balance - for the purposes of my ...

Just a real quick review to say that this camera just works great. After a few repair trips to canon "quick" service center I decided to go with a more reliable feature rich product. Canon has some fine camera, not trying to knock them. I know own two K100D Supers and one K10D. They work beautifully. The K10D is a bit heavy but its an intense machine. The K100D is light, fast, and reliable! Problems: Absolutely none... Perhaps a lack of new glass coming from pentax, but it hasn't hurt me at ...

excellent addition to my Pentax family of cameras. I own (2) K1000's and an A3000 that I have enjoyed over the years. This K100 is a great camera that has helped me step into the digital world with ease. Problems: None
