I bought this camera to have a small ready-to-shoot camera in my pocket all the time and, boy, this fits the bill. It takes great snapsots although it is only fair for higher quality images, but you can't beat the size, portability and ease of use. For me, the main barrier to taking good photos has been whether or not I carry my camera with me . . . and this has solved that problem - i ALWAYS have the camera with me. I have found that selecting an enhanced sharpness and color saturation set ...

I have had this camera for over a year and it has been wonderful. The compactness of it actually fitting in an Altoid tin is great- in fact I use the tin as the camera case, slip it in my pocket, and forget about it. Size does matter (in this case the smaller the better), and I take this camera where I would not lug around my SLR's, lenses, and flashes. There is great battery life and a 256Mb SD card holds all the high res pix you could want. Great exposure metering and daylight fill-in ...

I never go out without the Optio S! Although it is so small that you don't even feel it in your pocket, it shoots fine pictures. I was amazed when I saw the first pictures I took. It come with more completely equipped than you would expect from a camera this size and even looks like a Hollywood star! Great! I got it after the S4 had been on the market and thus paid a very reasnable price. Even Greater! Problems: Some complain about the very small buttons. OK, they are not really easily ...

After 9 months of use I can easily say that I was happy as choosing the Optio S as my first digital camera. I use it for macro shots and most turn out wonderful (Super Macro mode). I keep my Optio in a thin cloth-coated Altoids tin and the whole kit is impervious to most any types of sports/hobbies-related collisions (hiking, volleyball, snowboarding, in-line skating etc) Problems: ~The quality of the AVI movies could be much better (not much detail), but decent as the file sizes of them are ...

Great little camera! I had this unit for a good month and a half while my Kodak was out for service and it worked like a charm. Took great pictures and was very easy to use. I couldn't get over how small it is with all the features it has. I actually tried to get this as a replacement for my Kodak when they couldn't fix it right but when I went to do the exchange they were all sold out! Problems: Only thing that I could possibly suggest is to include a smaller strap for your wrist, it ...

A great miniature camera....goes on my belt with the Optio s leather case. Smaller and lighter than many cell phones. I own several digitals and several professional film cameras. This one is convenient to have anywhere you go and for those unexpected photo ops. Photos are very good in most every instance. Problems: No real problem but you have a considerable wait for camera to read each shot to the card......sometimes tries the patience. Don't forget to use the flash on indoor shots ...

I emerged onto the digital scene with this camera. I've been looking at going digital for some time; every backpacking trip with my SLR enhanced that resolve. I have finally a great quality camera that goes everywhere = I take more pictures. I bought mine at costco, they threw in a leather pentax case made precisely for this camera as well as a 128mb sd for the same price as the competition. For a crashproof/waterproof case get the Pelican #1010 for $12 and never worry again. For spare ...

Aweful support ruined what seemed a great camera. Silly small and light whilst still giving decent features was my aim - and I got that. Alas the lcd cracked in an incident so minor I can't even tell when it happened. Far worse - Pentax UK support has been terrible. Problems: LCD screen cracked trivially and UK Pentax support have been shockingly poor. After sending my camera in, they first sent me an invoice for repairs. No cover letter or any pretence at customer care. Then I get an invoice ...
