Pentax Optio 430RS

Well, this camera is indeed not one that gives mindblowing results. It will cost a lot of photoshop hours to get a satisfying image. I bought this camera for about € 399 euros in 2002 and was one of the first 4 MP cameras at the time, this was the first and last time that I thought more is better. Some pictures are good, but the most of them are bad. The battery is good, the optical viewfinder is good, the macro (I used many times) is good, but there are a lot of problems which made me unhappy. Avoid Pentax, or this model! I bought this camera for £249 (uk) when most places were listing around £300. The first thing to say is that the cameras build quality , size and photographers features were great for the money. However the picture quality was very "noisy" when looked at closley , although i admit this was not as obvious when printed out. The images are just not up to par. They are noisy even at iso100 compared to other cameras. There are better cameras out there at this price range.

After using it for 1 month, I had to upgrade to a Canon S50. The image quality is not good at all compared to other 4 MP cameras in the market. Can produce good results under good lighting. Too much noise.. Forget it! I had this camera for 2 months. The size and build quality attracted me. It is indeed, very well made. But the thing took awful pictures. My old Casio QV2000 took better picturs and that was just a 2.1MB resolution. Many pictures were out of focus and full of noise, Performed badly in the dark with the poor autofocus and over compensating flash. I own the camera for several month. I am very dissepointed with the picture qwality. There are many focusing and light metering problems. Taking a picture in a room with a bright window in anny angle to the camera is a unpossible task: No compensation, verry poor flash compensation poor colors. Outside a little better but far from the minimum I expected. Problems: PIcture quality. Focusing. A VERY DISSAPOINTING CAMERA DO NOT BUY!!!!
