I was looking for a super compact digital camera, and it came down to the Optio 330 and Ixus V. I chose the Optio for its longer zoom, higher resolution and because it has a cross piece for menu selection, which should (*should*) have made menu navigation easier. Also, the Optio can use Nokia phone batteries, which are a cheap backup compared with buying another Pentax battery. Overall, the camera is satisfactory. I cannot say I am completely happy with it, but it does its job. However, many ...

I find the quality of the video to be very poor - worse than a analog camcorder. I'm told this seems to be true for most 'still' cameras with 'move mode' feature - ie. better to get one without this feature & a digital camera if you want both...

The best overall performance with such size. Good photo quality. Good body design (I like the metallic body very much). Good On/off button design (Good durability). Very user friendly menu interface (I don't need to read the operating manual at all). Fast respond in focusing and capturing, so that I can catch some fast motion in sport activity. Full manual control let me to take some night photo with up to 15s of shutter speed (Only 2s max in 430). Problems: Battery life is too short, ...

A compact digicam for office use. Fastrating when using out door coz of small battery capacity. No point getting biger memory chip, coz the fully charged battery can't even support thehigh no of photos taking to be saved in a 32mb card. Problems: poor design in camera power source.

FEEL BAD AFTER 4 MONTHS RESTRAINT. EASILY WRONG FOCUS(BACKGROUND IN STEAD OF SUBJECT). CAN'T FOCUS IN INDOOR LIGHTING(SIMPLY AT DINNER TIME, YOU CAN'T FOCUS THE ONE JUST OPPOSITE TO YOU). 1 HOUR BATTERY ONLY & GEETING HOT. IT IS COMPACT BUT TOO HEAVY FOR USING NECK-STRAP. CF DOOR DOOR TOO DIFFICULT TO BE OPEN. (NEED TO BE OPENED BY TOOL, THE SHARP METAL EDGE CUT MY FINGER BEFORE) VERY LIMITED MANUAL EXPOSURE.(CHEATED BY THE ADV.) THE ONLY GOOD POINT IS LIGHT & PORTABLE VS MY EOS3. IN NORMAL ...

We have been very impressed by the ease of use and good colour reproduction. The size and weight make the camera very usable everywhere and we find the picture quality to be excellent. In two weeks use we have taken over 300 pictures with generally excellent results. We like it. Problems: On/Off button is small. Battery life is extended if you do not use the LCD screen. Noise can be a problem if near a video camera operator.

A good overall performer, and compared to the Olympus C2500L I do find that the image quality is better. If used with respect some very descent photos can be obtained. ie: try to get the subject in focus as much as possible before pressing the trigger! If you manage that then you will have a very balanced photo, with rich faithful colours and good detail Problems: Unless the subject is brightly lit most pictures are a tad off focus.

Just bought it - first use was at night in a party.. so I cannot speak for daytime photos. got it because it is small and compact. Problems: Low light - flash results in white face ... no flash results in poor focus..
