The scores are all the way up to counterbalance those who gave negative thoughts eventhough they never use L1 before. While not a perfect camara, the first generation Panasonic DSLR is proven very well capable and well designed. It is the only camera that I come to like so much since moving from film to digital. The ease of use, the usefulness of live view, live histogram and live WB give much more confident to photographers. The JPEG engine is good enough that I just dont need to rely on ...

The camera is great! Wish I had it during my trips to Egypt and back to UAE.

To balance out the statistics from people who deliberately try to sabotage the average rating.

After being a happy LC1 owner I decided to give the L1K a good look. From the moment I picked it up I knew I wanted one and bought it locally. In typical Panasonic fashion it is a well built camera - the lens is all Leica when it comes to build and image quality. There is ZERO fringining of any color. It is quiet and smooth...with excellent contrast and color rendition. There are some interesting features including liveview which is only slightly practical. Using liveview and less resolution ...

i've had mine about a week now, and overall am very pleased. i've used some olympus non-aperture-ring lenses, and find that process not too off putting. i have absolutely no complaints about image quality up to and including ISO 800. flash is very nice. metering seems predictable. all in all, the only knock i have on it is price: i do think it should be significantly cheaper, even with its very nice "kit lens." Problems: none so far.

I bought one from Homg Kong! I paid the import duty and it arrived whilst I was away in Florence - just a few days earlier and it would have had a really thorough testing! I am really pleased with it. The construction is of very high quality and the images are superb. I have just done my first commercial job with it, photographing the scars of an accident victim - plugged in the studio flash through the hot shoe block (no PC connector, even at this price!) and the pictures are fine with ...

This is just to redress the ballance slightly from the insane review given by user??? "filmrescue". The rules are quite straight forward, and slagging something off just cus you can't afford it, is a bit lame.

This camera has been with us for more than a month now. Highly recommended to those who want the best image quality. L1 is a very solid tool for photography. Best result could be achieved using raw format. The bundled "Leica" zoom lens is very sharp and is able to capture anything faithfully. Image stabilization in the lens handheld shooting in dim situation and using smaller aperture creat better depth of view. Problems: Lack of speed may be a concern for some but not for us. It would be ...
