Hello everyone, I am still looking for a good second camera. I almost opted for the GH2 and hack it, but I felt I should go for a new model. I am from Europe, so the GH4 has a video limit and so does the G7 (1080p AVCHD as well). The noise levels from the G7 are far better than that of the GH4 when it came out. But has it changed with the new firmware? I ordered the GH4R (which has the new Log and no video time restriction), but the G7 seems like such a good alternative. If only I weren't...

Hi All,I have an up coming event that I would like to create a time lapse of the set up. The event will be an Historic motorcycle display. Inside a display space that is artificially lit. I have a position on a mezanine floor to position the camera over looking the display space. Could you advise the best settings for my GH4 to allow mw to create a short movie of this event. I have never tried this process but am keen to start experimenting to improve the technique before the event in...

The more I think about it, the more I will opt for the GH4R. I did find a good deal for the GH2, which I could hack and all, but I am not so sure about using a hacked system. And I checked most of the GH2 hacked video samples. They look pretty good, and they would better blend with the LX100 than the current old LX5 and the beloved LX3 I have (no 1080p, either). Maybe I am unconsciously biased, but I like the GH4 video quality better. I see the Panasonic Lumix G 25mm f/1.7 (€200) seems close...

having a lot trouble balancing my bmpcc on single handed gimbal I have an external battery attached to the top of it - it's not a very substantialbattery ( just a Sony l type fp550 attached with a plastic mounting plate)but this seems to make it top heavy and hard to balance. since my gimbal (and others I've tried) block access to the bmpccinternal battery door and we all know how unbelievably short the bmpccinternal battery life is, it seems an external battery is necessary. for a lens I was...

Hi all, After many years of lurking I have finally dipped my toe into Fujifilm water. I have not yet sold my MFT kits, so I am starting with the X-T1 with 2 lenses, 56/f1.2 and the new 35/f2. I am planning to take the Fuji kit with me next month on a week's visit to England, with wife and 5-year-old. It will primarily be London museums and parks, and with touristy bits in between. Until now, I would have gone with GH4 and 3 Panasonic lenses, 7-14/f4, 12-35/f2.8, 42.5/f1.2. (times two the...

So I just got a Rode VideoMic Go for some backup audio.  Plugged it into the GH4, and no audio, at all.  Plugged it into another GH4, same issue.  Plugged the Rode Mic into my phone, now I have audio.  Is there a setting on the GH4 to enable external audio?  It's showing the icon in the rec screen that the mic is attached, just zero audio.

Hi all, Is anyone able to provide some 4K video samples using Flat and Standard/Natural profiles? It would be interesting to see how the D500 4K compares to something like the GH4. Thank you

Short version: I bought a Panasonic G7 and want to know what cheap used lenses to look for that work with my camera. Read on at your own discretion. Otherwise meet me in the last paragraph and give your opinion. I am a proud new owner of a Panasonic G7 (with 14-42 kit lens) and so far I like everything about it. But as I look toward the future, I want to make sure I fully understand the M43 world as I am a complete neophyte. First, a little about my camera experience and goals. If you find...

Hello, Trying to find out for sure (not just guesses or suppositions) whether or not the FZ300 uses 1:1 sensor crop for 4K video. The GH4 does, but (according to Camera Labs) at least some other Panny 4K-capable cameras do not. Any factual info on the FZ300 will be much appreciated. Thanks!
