I know the Tamron 14-150 has no built in I.S. The GH4 has I.S. My other Panasonic zoom lenses, without I.S. built in, work fine on both the GH4 and my older G5 with camera Stabilization on. The G5 has built in I.S also. When I use the Tamron on the GH4, "Stabilization" is grayed out on the camera menu so I can't use it. Camera FW is 2.0 and Tamron FW is 1.1. Tamron says it should work fine. Has anyone else had any I.S. problems with this lens on the GH4? Many thanks!
Is there ANY way to declick the Lumix G X Vario lenses for the Panasonic GH4? And will there be any setbacks with the lens functionality if declicked? What I'm looking for is a way to shoot video with stepless aperture on the GH4 with the Lumix Vario Lenses. Is this in anyway possible, whether through adapters, on-camera controls, or custom modification?
How do you manually focus a lens without a focus ring on the Panasonic GH4? I have set the custom function button "Lens w//o Focus Ring" to Control Dial (MF) to "Focus" but when I turn the control dial with the focus mode lever set to MF, nothing happens. Please advise - thanks in advance!
Hi I've now got a GH4, and I'm getting use to all the features. I have an overseas trip coming up in a week, so here is my question: Should I shoot in full C4K (4096 X 2160) or UHD format (3840 X 2160) ? Here are the issues I'm thinking about when posing this question: My plan is to capture my travel in 4K and edit it later next year I currently don't have a powerful enough computer to edit 4K, nor a c4K / UHD TV or Projector to view it in all its glory, but I intend to get this equipment...
Hi, I recently got a GH4, and I am very happy with it, until I began to edit the images.. and found out that in same cases, I see these faint lines in the darkest areas... This image was shot at ISO1200, but another one taken 5 minutes later at ISO 2000, both with large dark areas did not show these lines... this is SOOC, slightly overexposed to make them even more visible. Is it just me or there is a problem with the sensor??
Aloha, I have a GH3 and GX7. They both have Extended Optical Zoom (EOZ) or Extended Tele Converter (ETC); the GH3 won't shoot 1080p in this mode but the GX7, which uses a 1:1 sensor crop for ETC video, will. I tested the ETC/EOZ mode of the GX7 and found that it was actually slightly inferior to regular zoom in terms of image definition. It appears that the down-sampling of the normal zoom is, in this sense, better. (My test was to shoot the same scene at about 70mm with ETC, and again at...
I am considering to get second hand Canon EF lens cheap and either buy an active EF to m43 adapter or the active SpeedBooster (MB_SPEF-m43-BM2, the S version). With these “active” parts between the EF lens and the GH4, I will be able to change the aperture, get EXIF-data and have the IS in the Canon lens be turned on. Unfortunatly no AF. My question: How effective is the Canon IS in these cases? With the active adapter there is no glass in between the lens and the sensor and the focal length...
