Would it be realistic to expect internal 10-bit 4:2:2/4:4:4 recording or at least some kind of external SSD bitstreaming solution for that? Another concern for me is the rolling shutter speed which needs to improve a lot for 4K resolution. Currently GH4 has one of the fastest rolling shutter speed in 4K mode and NX1 can do invisible? rolling shutter speed in HD mode. A7R II sensor has 42 mp. You need ~ 33.2 mp to get full color information for 3840x2160 (4K) video because of bayer filter. A7S...
Hi I'm looking for a good and cheap adapter for my PK-lenses and would love to use them on my new JVC GY-LS300,(M4/3 mounting,) also for use on my GH4, but for that I need a great adapter.... Is there anyone that can recommend a great place to buy the adapter..? --Jonny PedersenVideographer/photographer
I have a couple of Pentax Limited primes: the DA 15mm and the DA 35mm Macro, and would like to use them on my GH4, but as they do not have an aperture ring, I would loose aperture control if using a cheap m4/3 to K adaptor. Are there any 'automatic' adaptors available? - i.e. that would allow in-camera control of the Pentax lens aperture (and maybe also autofocus - though that not essential). Otherwise are there any basic 'non-auto' adaptors that you would recommend for quality? I'd be using...
Hello everyone, relative newbie to digital photography here.. I have very specific requirements from my gear - falconry action shots of trained hawks hunting (in the variable lighting that is typical of a UK winter). I own a GH4 and have used 3 Panasonic lenses (35-100 F2.8, 100-300 and 45-175) with varying levels of success to capture the shots I would like. I need more range and I'm seriously considering either the 100-400 or the 300F4. Is anyone using the Olympus 300F4 on a GH4? I would...
Hi everyone! I'm just starting my adventures in shooting video on MFT and have a basic question about focal length, crop factor, etc...I'm looking at buying a few Rokinon Cine DS lenses for MFT mount and want to make sure I'm properly understanding the focal length conversions. My basic understanding is that it's a 2x crop factor from full-frame sensors. i.e. a 24mm lens on a MFT camera will have the same framing as a 48mm lens on a full-frame camera.Specifically my question is about...
Hello everyone, I am still looking for a good second camera. I almost opted for the GH2 and hack it, but I felt I should go for a new model. I am from Europe, so the GH4 has a video limit and so does the G7 (1080p AVCHD as well). The noise levels from the G7 are far better than that of the GH4 when it came out. But has it changed with the new firmware? I ordered the GH4R (which has the new Log and no video time restriction), but the G7 seems like such a good alternative. If only I weren't...
Hi All,I have an up coming event that I would like to create a time lapse of the set up. The event will be an Historic motorcycle display. Inside a display space that is artificially lit. I have a position on a mezanine floor to position the camera over looking the display space. Could you advise the best settings for my GH4 to allow mw to create a short movie of this event. I have never tried this process but am keen to start experimenting to improve the technique before the event in...
The more I think about it, the more I will opt for the GH4R. I did find a good deal for the GH2, which I could hack and all, but I am not so sure about using a hacked system. And I checked most of the GH2 hacked video samples. They look pretty good, and they would better blend with the LX100 than the current old LX5 and the beloved LX3 I have (no 1080p, either). Maybe I am unconsciously biased, but I like the GH4 video quality better. I see the Panasonic Lumix G 25mm f/1.7 (€200) seems close...
