I am using a GH3 with a variety of the Panasonic Lumix lenses including two of the zooms. ie 12-35 and 35-100. I notice that when zooming while shooting video, there is a noticeable bump in exposure which is due I assume to the fact that these are not fixed f stop lenses so the camera attempts to adjust exposure. I have the camera set to all manual but the auto adjust still occurs. Any suggestions other than don't zoom while filming. Thanks in advance. Jack

I want to shoot pictures of the solar eclipse on October 23, using a GH3 + telephoto (either 175mm or 300mm). Would a 3-stop ND filter (ND8) provide enough protection to avoid damaging the sensor? I don't plan to leave the camera pointed at the sun for any significant length of time; just enough to point and shoot (I will set up focus and other parameters in advance and use MF or focus lock to keep the focus at infinity.)

Hi there, i am about to buy another camera for video. Now i have D5300 and D5200. My question is: is GH3 still worth to buy along with D5300 ? I mostly need two cameras so i will sell my D5300 and buy two GH3, if somebody could provide me unedited files form GH3 that will be great. I have a lot of Nikon lenses so i will go with speedbooster. and at all - now i cant buy two GH4s :) thank you

What if Canon had produced the LX100? Let’s pretend for a moment that Canon had announced a camera with the LX100’s exact specs and Panasonic had announced a camera with the G7X’s specs. Would you still buy the Canon LX100 or would you have stuck with the Panasonic G7X? How much does brand loyalty play into your decision for cameras that don’t use interchangeable lenses? I wonder if things would be different if Canon and Nikon suddenly started producing cameras that had the same...

I noticed recently that on my NTSC GH3, I don't seem to have a time limit for individual clips when I shoot MOV or AVCHD, but there is a 27 minute 11 second time limit when I shoot MP4 (29 minute 59 sec before I reset my camera's options). What is going on here? Can I increase the time limit when I shoot MP4?

Hello, new here and would appreciate some advice. I have a Pan G2 with 14-45 OIS and 45-200 OIS. My conundrum: I have young children and repetitively switching lenses while I photograph them at their activities is a pain. I find I am leaving the camera at home and resorting to my iPhone (ugh) to get quick, but unsatisfactory pics of them. I was looking at going to APS-C with the Canon 70d with the Tamron 16-300, but when I tried it in-store the kit was pretty big and heavy, and thought I...

I haven’t seen anything that says what “RGB + IR photometry sensor of new 150000 pixel” is. Could RGB + IR photometry sensor mean that some of the pixels are reading IR light to reduce luminescence noise in very low light? In astrophotography we remove the filters from our cameras so that they can see UV and IR light. Then we put very specific filters back on which allow us to just see the light we want. I have several modified cameras that I have also tested in daylight. The data(UV and IR...

I have the GH4 and the 35-100mm F2.8 already. I also have the 25mm F1.4 lens and the 14mm F2.5 lens. However, I shoot mostly video and so I really need image stabilization even with the wider angles. I had considered buying the 12-35mm F2.8 lens but now the LX100 is giving me pause. Its multi-aspect ratio sensor will give me a wider field of view in the 16:9 video mode. It will also give me a more compact wide to medium solution. In fact I could fit the GH4, 35-100mm, 25mm F1.4, and the LX100...

Hello, I am new to this camera and never activated a wifi on one before. I followed the steps and was able to connect to iPhone and ipad for remote shooting. Yet, I cannot make it work for transferring photos to laptop.  Any details ins would be great. Thanks.

First, thanks to all the members who have given great answers to my other questions. I have done a lot of stills and video with my GH3 since I got it last year (I notice that the price has dropped by a couple of hundred dollars ;-( ) and recently wanted to get into night photography, using moonlight. A few years ago I was fooling around shooting at night with a Canon Powershot Sx100 (8mp P&S) and took this hand-held shot (it was cropped and resized in PSE, but all the detail and color and...
