Hi All, I've been researching cameras for ages now and Id really appreciate help making up my mind. I have a Sony RX100 mark 1 and its great little camera, but I want something with better focus, image quality and telephoto abilities. I will be keeping my RX100 regardless as its not worth selling and is always handy to have as a compact camera that fits in my pocket. What I need now is great travel camera. My budget is $1500 USD. I have been traveling around the world for over a year. New...

I succumbed to temptation and bought the GH3 body only last month. Received a claim reference immediately when I applied for the free grip and 25mm lens but have heard nothing at all since and the 28 days they say to wait are up on Saturday. Previous Panasonic promotion items/cashbacks I've gone for have usually come through very quickly - just wondered what delays (if any) other GH3 buyers have had on this promotion before I start trying to contact the helpline. Cheers

Hi, I am currently a Lumix GF2 owner and am keen to upgrade however want an M43 camera that can film and continuos autofocus while filming similar to a camcorder.  The GX7 with it's 20MM (II) kit lens seems to do this very well. http://vimeo.com/74527984 The G6 and GH3 both seem to have impressive video features, however are a little larger than I would like. I also own a canon 550D so am really looking for something closer in size to my GF2. My lens of choice is a Panny 25MM F1.4, I'm...

Hi, I just picked up a GH3 and Constant preview seems to work as it should, until I go outside. It then seems to 'gain up' and doesn't mimic any changes to exposure parameters before taking the shot. Is this standard on GH3's in particular?  Thanks.

I would like to get a phone that I can use as a remote for my GH3. The problem is I don't need or want a phone, so I thought I would pick up an old model that will do what I want without getting a coverage plan for it. Does anyone have any recommendations on a model that will do what I need, but is old enough that they can be found used on ebay for cheap? This is assuming that I can do this with a phone that is not activated.  --Mark JamesA.K.A. Mike Ronesia

The GH3 allows for some increase in zoom range by shooting at lower than full res and utilizing only part of the sensor.  Panasonic calls this Extra Tele Converter.  It is not "digital zoom" since it does no upsampling.  Instead, it changes the effective FOV by using less than the entire sensor surface. The FZ1000 does something similar when shooting 4K video (actually increasing the video frames to 8mp from the normal HD 2mp). Does the FZ1000 have any sort of Extra Tele Converter (not just...

I bought a GH3 soon after it was released.  I recently noticed that I now see the settings icons burnt in on the EVF.  I like to see all the settings so I have always selected that display.  When I view pics in playback, I see the ghosts of the icons on the screen. Has anyone else observed this?

From what I've read, there seems to be a *slight* improvement in stills from the GH4 (vs. GH3) but that the GH4 stills pulled are significantly better (8mb vs 2mb, if video is in the *right* mode). For those of you who have used both cameras, how much better are the stills of the GH4 and are you getting really good IQ from stills taken from video? I am not much interested in video as such, but would be interested in pulling good stills. Or would just using burst mode be even better (most of...

Hi! I'm new to this world, and I'm about to buy my first DSLR. I've decided to spring for the GH4 rather than the GH3 because I will be using it for the next 4-5 years and I recockned I'd get the newer model (my bank account will take a big hit but I think it's worth it). Also I'll be using it almost exclusively to shoot short films so I like that it's got focus peaking (I didn't know what that was just a week ago). Anyway, I've been pouring over several lens specs and reviews, and after...

Does the GH3's touch-screen focus pull feature only work if you are using a Panasonic lens? (I've been using an Olympus Zuiko lens, which doesn't seem to want to let me do focus pulls this way. Unless I've been doing something wrong of course...)
