Hello guys, I'm new on this forum, but would love to have your advice on which camera I should buy. I am a photographer but also a beginner filmmaker. I'm looking to buy a camera which is good in both world. Also good in low light. I have a budget of 2500euros aprox. My current camera is a Lumix GH-1, which I really enjoy in video but feel a bit restrained when it comes to photography.I was looking to the Eos 6D, but I'm not yet convinced on its video performance. I would love to hear your...
I currently have a Panasonic GH1 and I think it's broken but the factory wants $350 to look at it. I had more success with a previous Panasonic and a Fuji camera. I'm looking for a nice, general, all around camera with a view finder and some heft to it. I'd also like to be able to add a good telephoto lens in the future. One of my previous cameras (Fuji) took good macros as I love bug shots. We kayak so I want to be able to catch that elusive blue heron also with a decent zoom. My GH1...
When using legacy lenses on the G1/GH1, I know the buttons to press to magnify live view. Is it possible to get the G1/GH1 to magnify live view when you focus? Is there any way to magnify live view when using legacy lenses on the PL5 or E5? On the Oly and Lumixes, is there a way to get the focus confirmation light to work when using legacy lenses? I am using the Voigtlander F adapter (for manual Nikon lenses.)
Hi, I have a GH1 body with these lenses: m43: Panny 14-140mm f/4-5.6, Panny 20mm f/1.7 FD: Elicar 35mm f/2.8, Canon 50mm f/1.8 Universal-to-FD: Soligor 90-210mm f/4 C-Mount: 24mm f/1.4. I'm thinking of picking up a smaller body to be used with the primes, especially the 20mm, so that I actually bring out the camera more often rather than anything else. I do not care about high ISO performance, the highest I ever go is ISO 400, usually ISO-100. Cost being an issue, I am thinking of picking up...
I've been an ardent GH user for many years now, starting with the GH1 in 2008. I upgraded to a GH2 at the end of 2012 and have been very happy with it. There's nothing inherently wrong with it - it does pretty much everything I want from a camera, but I do tend to play around with raising shadows in Lightroom and notice there's quite a bit of noise when I do that. I'm off to Japan and Hong Kong for three weeks at the end of March, and naturally want to take the best with me that I can, so...
I am trying to find instructions on how to convert a GH1 to shoot in Infrared. Life Pixel has instructions for the GH2 and I was wondering if they are close enough to use them as a guide for a GH1 or if there are other instructions posted somewhere for the GH1? Thanks
I'm getting an error message on my GH1 that reads "Please turn off camera and turn on again" which I finally got rid of by removing the lens and screwing it back on. I feel like this might be the beginning of the end. The strap connector has already broken and the card cover is sprung and I just feel like I'm going backwards. Does anyone have a GH1 they love??? Can you take pictures indoors without using the flash?
I'm looking for a simple way to view my GH3 RAW images in Windows 7. My 1st choice is to use the Windows Explorer built into the operating system. Microsoft claims that all I need is the appropriate CODEC and then recommends their CODEC set. It lists the GH1 and GH2 but not the GH3 as supported. Panasonic doesn't offer any CODECs that I could find except for the GH1. I know third parties like Adobe and DXO have the ability built into their more elaborate products, but I'm just looking for the...
Okay so i'm wanting to film a jackass/stunt sort of film and i want a new camera to use seeing all i am working with is a goPro HD hero 2So far i have looked at the Sony A77, the sony handycams, the Cannon XA 10/25 and also the GH10/20I don't have alot of money so the best value for money would be great. Also, the ability to do slow motion shots would be pretty good plus being able to record for long times without having to charge would be great. If you have any other cameras you think would...
