A compact camera with a impressive 28mm wide-angle Leica 10x zoom lens (35 mm equivalent: 28 mm to 280 mm). It has a lot of scene modes, intuitive operation and MEGA O.I.S optical image stabilisation .

I bought this camera in October 2007 in preparation for a Safari trip to Africa. The 10x zoom along with the image stabilization gave me amazingly detailed shots of the wildlife. The video was also good, except for the sound, which was poor due to wind noise. It has served me well ever since in a wide arrange of lighting conditions. I would definitely recommend this camera.

I bought this as an upgrade to a Minolta Z1 last September. My reasons for buying were that I wanted a power-zoom comparable to the Z1, but something I could fit in my pocket when travelling. The increase in resolution was an added bonus. The Macro setting is a revelation, producing stunning images. After 7 months of almost continuous usage, I would recommend this unit to anybody, but please do not think of it as a DSLR replacement, the amount of control of the image simply is not there. ...

Really makes you appreciate Nikon! Nah, that's not really fair: I knew exactly what I was buying when I forked out for this: a camera that's mediocre indoors, has an underpowered flash, small CCD, and an atrocious noise-handling algorithm (that Pana persist in boasting about, they either have eye problems or their expectant Mamas looked at too many Manets). So why did I buy it? Well, I do a lot of cycling and I often see birds I would love to photograph; I can't carry my DSLR and the zoom ...

I bought this camera in May '07 to take on a european vacation. It was easy to use and took excellent pictures in all sorts of environments and lighting conditions. In fact we brought home more than 1100 images on 4 discs. Most were of excellent quality although in retrospect...why so many?! The camera was never dropped and returned home without a scratch. Problems: Without any warning, it simply stopped working at all about a month ago. Won't power up and yet battery checks fine. I ...

In general I prefer using a DSLR whenever possible. That being said I fly alot, and do not like to hall a SLR on planes. My job takes me to many properties that have been damaged by flood and fire (Mostly New Orleans). I have found that this little jem of a camera has become a great friend to me travling to these locations. The AF on this camera is amazing in low light. I can point this into rooms that are so dark I cant even see into them, and this takes the pictures that I need. Construc ...

Earlier this year I bit the bullet and bought a Nikon D200. It is a great camera, but I never have it on me when I most need it. It is so heavy I simply cannot walk around with it day to day or even leave it in the car "just in case" because our summers are far too hot to risk a camera being locked in the boot (trunk) for even half an hour without being cooked. I was reluctant to consider a compact camera (quality of pics etc), but after much reading of posts and reviews went into the ...

This camera succeeds brilliantly at what it sets out to do. If I've learned anything in my research on small cameras, it's that a small camera, indeed, any device, can't be all things to all people. This camera has a powerful wide angle to 10X zoom lens packed into a pretty small package, so of course there are going to be limitations, and the limitation for this camera, in my opinion, is that it is not a camera to use in low light settings. Hardly any small camera is, other than a camera ...

What a beautiful camera. 10X zoom lens is a market leader. Other features are in par with cameras of this kind. Generally speaking, Canon makes best (above 9/10 rating) professional DSLR & point and shoot, Sony best entry level DSLR's and Nikon best prosumer DSLR cameras. However, the difference is not that much between some other makes like Olympus, Panasonic and Pentax, at lower ratings (below 9/10) - with few exceptions, of course, like TZ3 here. Problems: None. Who wants to use an optical ...
