I bought this camera to use around my welding studio and out on the road hitting garage sales etc. Over the last three years I have taken well over ten thousand photos with it. It seriously still looks like new and have never had a case for it. I often carry it in my back pocket when I am out and about town garage sailing for the day. Plus it is always kicking around on my welding bench are area exposed to lots of fine metal dust heat etc. I have even taken some very close shots of red hot ...

Let's be real most of the people who think about buying the product are thinking this because they want a camera thet they can use under water and for the budget at the same time. Think hinders of times again. Theres a big issue with this camera and I don't think it can be fixed and I m afraid if the other brands has it! It starts good when you first get the camera and start to take photos until you first get in to the water! After you soak it into the water the disaster starts! The lens ...

I bought this camera a year ago and found it to be perfect for my active lifestyle. I took it sky diving, wakeboarding, scuba diving (only to 35 ft), skiing and everything in between. I speak in past tense as I left it on a plane back from Vegas a couple months ago. For such a small camera the picture quality is very good, I have blown several of the shots up and framed them for my apartment. The camera was very easy to use underwater, and took decent active shots. To put it simply I and ...

Equal or better image quality is available within the Lumix stable and for far less money! The only benefit of buying this camera is the waterproof housing, so unless you really plan to dunk your camera, think again... Considering the miniscule lens, the zoom range, sharpness and macro capability are pretty good and even the way it handles contrast is commendable. Metering and exposure are reasonably good. Features are adequate and user interface / menu, as with most Panasonics, is easy and ...

I gave this camera a 4.5, rather than 4 for IQ because for all it does (waterproof, etc), the IQ is really excellent. There are always compromizes; but, the TS2 really takes fantastic HD video and still images for a rugged camera. If you buy this camera, read the manual thoroughly so that you understand how to check the seals prior to use in water, and you shouldn't have any problems. Also, you will find out how to get rid of the 'warning' video (hint- you need to watch it once....). Problems: ...

I was looking for a replacement to my old Pentax Optio WP which has been a very usefull and fun supplement to my heavy DSLR-gear. The Lumix DMC-FT2 (TS2) is very well build and easy to setup and use. The start-up time, AF and shutter lag is very short which where important features for me, together with a decent picture quality. The zoom range is very nice starting with 4.9 mm (28 mm) and up to 22.8 (128 mm) which together with the optical image stabilizer makes the camera very versatile. Pro ...

Bought for honeymoon in the Maldives, great performance in all situations - underwater, in rain, on the beach, in the evenings etc... We were blown away by its performance. We took four cameras, including two DSLRs and this camera got the most use.. by far. The video is incredible for the spec of camera rivelling many stand alone video cameras. Would highly recommend, its not perfect - but its the best all round compact I've used. Without the waterproof/shockproof/freezeproof etc... ...

The Panasonic DMC-TS camera has been great so far, the camera feels solid in your hand. The image quality is very good and excellent when taking pictures in the dark (night scenery). I wanted a camera where I could take HD videos as well and I was really please by the quality and specially the image stabilizer. I tried many cameras and this one is the best so far for videos without shakeups. I also like the silicon case that comes with it that protects the camera from a drop (Anti-shock 2 ...

The Lumix dmc-TS2 can go where most cameras come to a full stop: underwater. It is designed to face the elements because it is ruggedized from shock, water(33ft.),snow and rain. It is designed for travel, sports as well as ordinary activities when the moment needs to be immortalized in picture. It has the 'iA' setting where the camera automatically calculates the right scene, stabilizer,ISO, face detection, quick auto focus, exposure, digital red-eye correction, backlight compensation and ...
