i am experiencing a strange problem with my Fuji s2980. Recently I noticed some purple lines on images taken by the camera. Those are not like those which are seen in video mode (ccd blooming I mean), they remain at the exact same spot even on zooming or in different modes. They appear bright purple exactly like a vertical column at ISO 800 and higher. Is my sensor damaged?? Also why isn't it getting any firmware upgrade?? Thank you... Hoping for some informative replies..

I am unsure what the difference is in the sensor between these 2 camcorders. The G20 has a "pro" series 1/3" CMOS sensor, whilst this does not appear to be the case with the XA10. Can someone please help me here.   I currently have a Legria HF s20 and mostly shoot school sports and when visiting game parks (mainly Kruger).   From a video quality point of view would there be any benefit in upgrading to one of the above? The upcoming G30 would be great for Kruger park (20x zoom), so would also...

Hi, I currently have a Fuji S2980 that a friend asked me to look at because she knew I'd had several Finepix cameras before (although not this model) and she was having difficulty working out the best way to use it. I have now done so (I love the panorama feature!) and have found every item I wanted except one - how to switch off the double flash. Being cat breeders, we both take a lot of pictures of cats, and one thing I can tell you about taking pictures of cats is that it doesn't work if...

i have a Fuji FinePix S2980.  I bought it last Oct. or Nov.  I haven't used it over 4-5 times.  I got it out the other day to use it and when I turn it on, a message comes up on the screen that says, " turn off the camera and turn on again."  I have done this so many times it is unreal and I  Still get the same message.  I'm just wondering if anyone could tell me what might be causing this problem or if I should contact the company  I bought it from or should I contact Fuji? I'm sure the...

Hi, as a pc novice I've kind of wandered in "off the street" looking for help so to speak. I've been happily snapping away and transferring pics to Picasa on my PC running Vista 32. All of a sudden and without ( I think! ) any action on my part I can't "transfer" pics as the camera is not being recognised by Picasa.  Looking at Device Manager I'm seeing the triangle with the yellow exclamation mark. When I try to update driver software etc I land up getting through to the point where I'm told...
