I purchased the Lumix LX7 to replace my departed Leica D-Lux 4 (Lumix LX3). The LX7 has far exceeded my expectations. The lens is sharp and fast. The camera shoots raw. Autofocus is very quick and shutter lag is negligible. I do not shoot much video, but it seems rather good for a camera of this size. I owned an LX3 for abot 4 years and everything that I disliked about it has been rectified on the LX7. I have also the new electronic viewfinder which is also a great success. The focusing is very very fast. The 1.4 lens gives excellent sharpness of image at all apertures. I only shoot in RAW so I am able to control any noise in post production, but with a 1.4 lens I find that 90% of the time I am shooting at 80 ISO, so I have no problems. Just bought this camera from digital-rev for £330, and used extensively on a cruise holiday last week. I really like this camera. It is much lighter and smaller than my SLR, which makes it ideal for travel photography. Because of all the clever electronics it is easy to get decent quality snaps, where my lesser Canon ixus would have failed in some way.
