I have been using the camera for about a month and am pretty underwhelmed. It's considered to have a bit of "bling" among other professionals but I am not overly impressed. I like the 16:9 format but find the image quality, even at 80 is a bit disappointing. The controls are kind of counter-intuitive and the interface is a bit clunky. Forget about Panasonic if you care about image quality. I've been testing this camera thoroughly and it is an overall great camera in many aspects. But I am very dissapointed about the sensor performance. If after seeing these reviews and the sample images available in this site you still want to get one, let me know. Camera is packed with lots of features. Elegant eye-catching body. Lightweight considering all the features. Excellent display and burst mode. Problems: Discovered three distinct bagel-shaped dark spots in the display's central area in the 4x optical zoom mode, the same spots were transfered into file. Frequent focusing defects in the 4x optical zoom mode, image stabilizer not too efficient. Color reproduction was definitely pinkish, could not correct using camera's features. Lenz cover hangs ...

for those of you who read Chasseur d'Images, the leading european photo magazine, it has a review on the LX1 in its latest release. Not very good I am afraid and very dissappointing to say the least.
