This is a point-and-shoot camera with as a main feature the mechanical anti-shake option. I have a very unstable hand, and I can say from experience that the anti-shake function works very well, even in full optical zoom. Macro mode pictures are very good, even though it seems that the anti-shake works less efficiently there. My 1st digi cam, brought mainly due to the image stabaliser. down side can be image quality due to the jpeg only format, dark shots that need flash are very noisy, blues and blacks blending in make my suit look strange. otherwise great starter cam.

The little Panny is my first digital camera after the delights of an Olympus OM2SP. And the new pocket sized electronic beauty is a belter! Though my hands are huge, I had no problems adjusting the Mode Dial atop of the camera. A logical layout, couped with a sharp (but small) screen , make for an easy operating experience. Great value! Perfect pictures for normal use, very useful features of image stabilizator, up to 60second night shots, ability of "multishoot" as long as you want (immediately saving to SD card, about 1shot per second), 5shots/3seconds fast burst great as well. Fast hardware - zooming taken photos in camera very fast. Display good enough, real colours, big font. Really recommend this one.
