I would not touch this camera with a 10 ft barge pole again! I purchased this camera as my 1st digicam and within 2 months a part on it broke which meant the entire camera froze up - I couldn't even turn it off. I took it back to the store who sent it away to get fixed. It was part was then replaced with another faulty part! The store then replaced it with a brand new LC5. I only had the new one for about a month before exactly the same thing happened in this one too! I have since ...

I am waiting for delivery of the DMC-LC5. Has anyone tried to use it with an Hoya R72 filter to do infrared photography? At the store it appeared to be IR sensitive.

Big disappointment with Auto mode (indoors w/low light). Indoors pictures are truly bad when Auto decided to use ISO 200 or 400. Outdoors with lots of light you'll get beatiful pictures. I'm disapointed with Panasonic, this is supposedly the top of the line camera with Leica lens, but if the final result is an over processed image with unnatural colors then it's not worth it. I hope Panasonic will fix the problem releasing a BIOS or firmware upgrade. I understand this camera is optimized for ...

I've seen the full size picture of this camera in a web review but the image quality is very disappointing. Luminance noise are very high. The lens may be good but I think there is a problem with the CCD. Images are very blunt too.

This camera was given to me as a gift, and when I first saw it, I was very hopeful that it would surpass my expectations. Unfortunately, as is the case with many things, looks are deceiving. The images are no better than my cheap little toshiba PMDR1, which is only 1.3 million pixels. I am really sorry, and have to agree with many other owners that the picture quality is dissapointing - in the extreme. I would go so far as to tell any new prospective digital camera purchasers NOT to buy ...

Hello, I have read most of the opinions posted on this site regarding LC5 and was quite frustrated by wide range of those. When I bought the camera I was delighted with purchase, but further testing it and digging in its functions was dissappointing. I even took it to the dealer to compare with same cameras. When we tested the camera at dealer's place, he suggested to take it to the service. The reason is the image quality: if one uses ISO 200 and 400 the level of noise is unacceptable even ...

Everything but the picture quality at highest resolution is great with this camera. I have bought it two weeks ago and returned it to the shop for a full refund after two weeks. I was disappointed with the blotchy look of the 2240x1680 photos it makes. At 1600x1200 the results are excellent. But this camera is not in de 2 Mpixel price bracket.... Everything else on this camera I like very much, so it broke my heart I had to return it. Well... I chose to, because I think I should get a 4Mpix ...

I had the chance to play with this camera for a day. What caught my eye (literally) was the LARGE LCD on the back. I'm getting too old to have to squint into the tiny LCDs of other makes. The camera had a good "feel" to it and of course, Leica lens...no need to say more on that subject. Like Ian, I am ... actually, I used to be, a professional photographer, using 8x10 and 4x5 format cameras, as well as Hassalblads and Nikons. Our company also had a top flight custom color lab to support ...

I must say I am very disappointed with the picture quality of this camera. While this camera has good features and its price is competitive compared to others at the same level, the image quality on screen is just not there. Another problem I found was the capture rate and image processing, which is a bit slow for my taste. And the limitation of SD/MM cards is also a huge problem - at the highest capcity using the Tiff format, each image i take is around 2Mb, and it is simply not enough if ...
