The D,MC-LC20 has a quality Lecia DC-VARIO 3x zoom lens and a nice and bright but small 1.5" screen. Imaqe quality for thise old Panny is fine-macros have a good amount of detail and landscape type photlos have nice sharpness. Very easy to use-yet has manual WB. Unique battery/card- door open the card door to get-to the SD card, then open the cover a bit more to change batteries. Sony also did this on some theirs, but not is nice as this one. Being quite old, you can't use SD cards larger ...

It's my 1st digi camera. Good outdoor image quality and color. User interface is logical and friendly. Noise is very apparent in low light, focusing is slow and flash is weak. But for the price, it's a good start for beginner.

First review here since 2003 - since this camera is now basically obsolete, but you may decide to throw some money at one on EBay for a small, throw in your pocket, bag or car type of camera to take some candid shots with - which is why I purchased mine. I took it to Las Vegas last week, and went out to Red Rocks Conservation area, and took some absolutely stunning pictures with this camera! In good outdoor light - it takes great pictures. Noise and graininess at higher ISO is a deterrent, ...

I've have tried many digicams in this range, of which I find Nikon Coolpix2100, 775 and Canon A40 to be cream of the crop. Always a sucker for panasonic products, I had to try LC20, guess what, I bought it. Nikon always produces the best pictures with their so ever reliable Nikkor lens, LC20 answers that with the legendary Leica lens. Those who wrote in their reviews that they returned their LC20s because the pic quality sucks, well, u did not try hard enough, explore it more. That's the fun ...

I've owned this camera since Christmas 2002 & have taken 5,000+ images. About 90% of them came out "Great". The rest were easily edited in one of my many software programs (IrfanView & DCEnhacer are my favorite & FREE). It does under & overexpose sometimes, but what camera does'nt? It has a hard time focusing accurately in dim light, but so did my Canon A40 with a "focus assist lamp". Put it in "landcape" mode, if you can't get a focus "lock" (it also works MUCH faster, shot to shot, in that ...

I was shopping for a camera for my Uncle in England as a retirement gift. I saw a display in Office Max for $149.00. but they were sold out so I went to Kitz camer's and they did an ad beat and gave me the same price. I had asked the salesman if the Panansonic LC20 was a good camera or not?. He gave me a demo of it and had said that the Leica lense was the best made. He took a photo and had showed it up on a computer monitor in the store. I was impressed with the detail and color of the ...

A Good Entry Level Camera. The DMC LC20 is easy to use and produces acceptable quailty images (not for printing above 4R). There ARE basic options on the flash modes, colour balancing, exposure compensation and so on. More than sufficient for an entry level camera. The 35-105mm optical zoom range is adequate. The full information of shot settings is nice to have. Plastic body gives good grip and feel durable, except for the battery door. Problems: Exposure setting seems to prefer f2.8 ...

I have been a die hard film photographer for 25 years. I have been watching and waiting for a value digital camera for 15 years (good and cheap). Finally I saw this Panasonic/Leica LC20 on sale at Office Max for $149.99. What a deal! The photos are fantastic in my opinion for the sale price. My professional photograper friend is also impressed with the image quality. The camera's size and ergonomics are excellent. Though I liked the Canon S200, it always felt like I was going to drop it since ...

I've bought this camera, as my first digital, 5 months ago. The moment I took it out of the box, I started taking photo's and have never stopped! Great camera for the money, and I find the pictures, aspecially in Macro mode, to be crisp and clear. The only rule for taking these great pictures is, set the image size to the biggest, best compression, and ISO on 100. Problems: Dont even think of using ISO-400 if you want crisp and clear pictures. It does not work! The 8MB SD card supplies is ...

I've been a serious photgrapher since I was a kid. This is my first digital camera and I think its great. I saw that some others were have trouble with dark exposures indoors. The flash is not very powerful, but if you've had experience setting exposures with manual film cameras, you can use this thing like a spot meter, point it at what you want the exposure to be based on, squeeze the shutter halfway to lock and you're great. - Excellent Design, great looking/feeling camera - Clear User ...
