In trying to improve the burst mode performance of my FZ70, I've been researching speeds of Sandisk memory cards and came across an announcement of Sandisk's SDHC and SDXC Extreme Pro UHSII, Speed Class 3, 280/250 MB/s read/write speed labeled as "the world's fastest memory card."  Does anyone know if the FZ70 can handle this new card or is it restricted to the old Speed Class 1 90MB/s?

Hi all, I am trying to find a camera to use when I go on travels for climbing/travel. I used to have an Olympus XZ-1, as was very happy with it, but it got stolen. So now I am looking for a new one. I am on a limited budget, and have suggested the below cameras as I know I can afford them. TZ60, FZ72, NEX-3N (with 16-50mm), A3000 (with 18-55)mm, LX7.   While reading climbing blogs, I've noticed that alot of people recommend having some wide angle and zoom capabilities, which is why I've...

I found an old Slik 450G tripod, no longer in production, that once belonged to my son and I'd like to use it with my FZ70. But it's missing a head and all the heads sold at B&H and other shops seem to have heads attached with a screw. The top of this tripod has no male or female screws. Is it missing another part?

I am looking at two camera's.  SAMSUNG WB2200 and PANASONIC LUMIX DMC FZ70 for my video recording needs.  My grand daughter is in musical theater and I'm looking for a good camera for my boy friend to record her solo's as I'm recording the whole play.  Then I put them on DVD for anyone that would like one.  I am staying away from the video file extension .mov as I have problems with the video "disappearing" when I try to retrieve it off the SD card.  I use WINDOWS DVD MAKER.  I don't want to...

The actual "image" of emoticons is no longer showing.  Not important, rather I'm curious as to why the images are no longer showing. --CarolProud owner of FZ40 and FZ70.

Hi. I recently got a Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ70 digital camera from Amazon.  After the first afternoon of use I noticed that it had a blurry streak on the bottom of the pictures.  I didn't notice it until after I had taken about twenty pictures.  Any idea what it is or how it got there?  I got it brand new.  Is there something I can do or should I return it to Amazon?  I am living in a rural part of South America so it is rather hard to send or receive things.  Notice the attached picture of...

Been looking for a $300-400 camera for general purpose/landscape with tripod. I see that I can get the Canon Rebel T3 12.2MP with 18-55mm Lens and 75-300mm Lens for the same price as a smaller sensor built in lens camera (Fuji FinePix SL1000, Panasonic Lumix FZ70, etc  ). Are these Canon "kit" lenses comparable with the built-in ones ?

Hi all I'm asking as most of you know I've always been a fuji user, until I got the fz200 that is. My last fuji was the hs50exr, which in all fairness held its own . ( that is JPEG sooc no pp) . I've found the fz JPEG engine is not very friendly, but easy to fix. (Thanks to those who helped me there)  now the thing is I need lots of reach. I'm visiting a vast inland water reserve so need minimum 1000mm type reach but more would help a lot. So thinking the 72 with lt55  telecon.  The last...

My FZ70 doesn't support Bulb (8 sec. max) but my new D3100 does with a remote release. So i thought I'd pick one up. In your experience, do i want a wired or wireless one and are the less expensive units, like the ones in the link below OK for the casual user? The price between the two examples below is not a issue but the OEM prices might be. Wired shutter release...

Hi, I am in the market for a good camera, after looking around i found out that bridge cameras are a better option for me, so i found he Nikon L820 which has pretty much every option I am looking for, but I personally think that there are far better cameras out there like the Fz70 from Panasonic but i am not really sure bout it, I will eventually get a DSLR, so i don't want one right now, I prefer Brands like sony/nikon/canon/panasonic, I prefer image quality over size and looks, It can also...
