Heyyy all, I've been obsessing since xmas over what camera I should upgrade to…I've been ok with mediocre product photography in my Etsy shop for the last year because 1) I seem to be selling stuff despite my shortcomings and 2) I couldn't really afford to do better. Well at xmas my husband basically said "let's step it up a notch" and very sweetly bought me a surprise canon powershot sx500 and I responded "aww thanks but it doesn't have a hot shoe :( :( " which I'm convinced (kind of?) that...
I'm new to this class of camera so be kind as I know this is probably a newbie question. I've used the fz70 auto setting for sports with 5 fps but feel like I'm not getting what I'd like. I realize that I'm not going to get a world class sprinter to stand still with this camera. However, I'd like to get as close as possible with as few manual settings as possible. Would anyone know the camera well enough to suggest the best settings for this type of picture? Thank you for your help.
I'm trying to decide which camera would suit my needs better, the Canon SL1 or the Panasonic FZ70. Here's some quick background. I've been using a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS1 for years now.
