Well it's getting towards the end of 2012 and we've come a long, long way since the release of this camera. I've owned a number of Panasonics as well as around a couple of hundred film and digital cameras in total since 1979. I prefer this camera in terms of form-factor and IQ over the other FZs I've used. I awarded it 3.5/5. Deducted 1 point for the sensor size not being optimal 1/1.7, another point for the flash WB being a bit ropey, and a half-point for the fact the pressing the shutter ...

After 3 years of use, my FZ20 continues to amaze me with its sharp, low noise and quality pixs. I am enjoying the camera very much. Worth every dollar of I paid. Problems: None.

Excellent shots, as soon as I got the camera I went out to the back yard and "played" with the camera taking literally thousands of pictures to discover just what it could do. The 12X zoom is amazing I think some people's reviews here speaking of bad color, noise, focus have not read the manual or practiced with the cameras functions enough to give an accurate appraisal of picture quality. There are links to pics on this site that show the abilities of this camera which are way beyond what I ...

My FZ20 has had autofocus malfunction rendering the camera virtually useless. It has been fixed once under warranty (they kept the camera nearly 2 months, by then the warranty expired). I have been informed its probably the lens assembly, VERY expensive ot fix so I am looking at Canon's. Also the colours are a bit washed, making some stunning scenes look rather drab, another reason for changing. Pity really as the camera has a lot of features I like, but the end result is what counts and ...

Had the camera for about 18 months, bought it for its zoom lens which is absolutely superb. I have experimented with a Sony 1.5 times tele converter with good results, as others have said there is noticable noise in some shots but overall quite acceptable. Battery life is OK, however I always carry a second, viewfinder LCD is poor, so I mainly use the rear screen. Overall a superb light and easy to use camera for taking sporting pictures requiring variable focal lengths.

I have this camera for over 2 years and it has taken some great photos. The camera is easy to use and the big zoom and stabiliser are great. Start up is a bit slow but the AF has always been very good with very few misses. Some images are a little noisy but it is great in good light. My 8 year old son has been using it lately and has taken some pretty good shots so it must be OK. I have now bought a Nikon D50 and there is no comparison, the DSLR is fantastic. Problems: Slow start up and a ...

A Classic in cameraworld . The positives overweigh its' various shortcomings enough to readily earn it that title . The first owner review in August 04 and this one in December 06 at close to number 200 speaks volumes . Now the positives . 1) Where else can you find a lens that stays at f2.8 right out to 432mm (12x) ? And it's a Leica too . 2) Nice size , nice feel & nice weight . Sure it's plastic bodied , but so are most DSLR's . 3) Quite nice clear good-colored pictures right out to 12x ...

I'm a little late weighing in on this camera but here's my thoughts for what they're worth. A solid, well-built camera that fit's my medium hands perfectly. Completely satisfied with 5 mp and the terrific zoom. The negatives are: Default colors settings are terribly over-saturated and finding good, realistic colors is difficult. White balance is next to impossible to achieve and, frankly, I've not gotten close to true white using a white card in all light levels. The menus can be confusing, ...

I bought this camera to replace my previous olympus c-760.2 weeks now and has some good points and some bad points. Good:-construction,colors,zoom,lens,easy of use,VERY fast and accurate focus in ANY conditions, generally fast camera, big diametr lens->high speed shutters in low light. Bad:I knew that images will have some of chromatic noise even at iso 80 and so be it,BUT it is visible ONLY in full image and with an anti-noise program u 'll be ok with very little loss of detail. I bought this ...

I've used this camera for almost 2 years and still love it. I recently bought a dslr and took it back because it didn't have some of the features I need on my '20. I cannot believe I waited this long to post my opinion of this fine camera. I'd HIGHLY recommend it for anyone that needs 2.8 throughout the zoom and a LONG zoom at that!
