I've had my camera for about 9 months now and I simply couldn't be more pleased with it. I use it for everything, from taking pictures of my family gatherings, nephew's soccer games, vacation photos, everything. People are constantly jealous of the superlative 12x stabilized zoom lens. I got the most amazing pictures of wildlife in Costa Rica last year, pictures that everyone else in my party couldn't get (a howler monkey 100 feet up in a tree and a three toed sloth for example). 8x10's ...

this camera is just amazing. i am really happy that i bought this camera. i was wary of just 2 megapixel jinx, but results proved that sometimes this camera surpasses 5 megapixel cams. for example with its superb 12x optical zoom lense i was able to take the rare photographs that my friends with 5 megapixel sony camera cant take. all the people who have seen my camera ,just fall in love with it. apart from lense, there are many cool featue. i highly recommend this camera.

I had the camera for about 3 wks now. It is much more compact than it looks, although it is not pocketable due to prtruding lens. Oh the lens... the picture is supersharp!, zoom without the tripod is amazing since it is SHARP. Very intuitive, and looks good. Quick and minimal shutter lag, upgraded the firmware easily, Did I mention the lens is superb???. It is the deal of century to get it for $245!! Initially hesitent since the camera is 2 years old and the price is bottoming out. Prob ...

1. Excellent construction. All buttons are logically and ergonomically laid out, providing easy accessibility and navigation. Fast lens motor lets you zoom in and zoom out in no time, along with a fast autofocus. Leica!!! Panasonic!!! 12x OPTICAL zoom!!! Even though some people complain about the plastic casing, but hey, it reduces weight (though not by much). PS: Per the words of my native Japanese friends, Panasonic is well loved by the Japanese and its products are considered, in ...

2 megapixels? No Way! Panasonic? No Way! but with Leica, YES WAY!!! This thing blows my Canon S230 (3.2mp) out of the water. It is amazingly user friendly, with sounds, feel, speed, buttons, simplicity, size, and of course that ZOOM. I tested it through rain soaked windows, and with an L-1011 landing (tire smoke and all), then printed 8.5 X 11 photos that are beautiful. The tests were for keeping or returning - GUESS WHAT!! Addendum - I have now done further tests and I don't understand ...

I LOVE this camera! I come from the more complex "Manual menu" kind of camera (i.e. Nikon 4500), which still has its merits, but when you want to pick up the camera and catch that bird flying over, the DMC-FZ1 is QUICK! Yes, it's "point and shoot," but that also means it's READY. It's light and very intuitive to use. My wife loves it, and won't use my 4500 anymore! I took hundreds of photos on a recent trip, and found that the image stabilization and the fast lens gave me frozen subjects at ...

A must P&S camera for any household with little leaguers. Don't hesitate to get one, it is reliable and the shots are great (specially outdoors). It is very fun and under $400 the price is right. PS I'm giving a 5 for features because the functions are really simple and easy to understand; after all this is a P&S camera, it shouldn't be compare to more sophisticated ones; the beauty of this camera lays in its simplicity. 12X Highly Recommended!!! Problems: Ah what is that ridiculous 8SD ...
