I have just purchased the DMC-FZ1 after reseaching a number of different cameras. What sold me on the Panasonic was its lens and speed. It is just so flexible as a point and shoot camera. The picture quality is amazing for a 2MP camera. The zoom is quick and quite and the camera is great to hold and use. Problems: It would be even better as a 3MP or 4MP camera.

I LOVE this camera! I come from the more complex "Manual menu" kind of camera (i.e. Nikon 4500), which still has its merits, but when you want to pick up the camera and catch that bird flying over, the DMC-FZ1 is QUICK! Yes, it's "point and shoot," but that also means it's READY. It's light and very intuitive to use. My wife loves it, and won't use my 4500 anymore! I took hundreds of photos on a recent trip, and found that the image stabilization and the fast lens gave me frozen subjects at ...

A must P&S camera for any household with little leaguers. Don't hesitate to get one, it is reliable and the shots are great (specially outdoors). It is very fun and under $400 the price is right. PS I'm giving a 5 for features because the functions are really simple and easy to understand; after all this is a P&S camera, it shouldn't be compare to more sophisticated ones; the beauty of this camera lays in its simplicity. 12X Highly Recommended!!! Problems: Ah what is that ridiculous 8SD ...

I bought my FZ1 about a month ago and I'm very pleased for it. I used to have a Sony CyberShot F-505, but since I did't find a second hand Sony for a propriate price I ended up buying a new Panasonic! So far I haven't have any regrets. The zoom is absolutely the best part of the camera along with the exellent optics by Leica of course. That was the main reason for me to buy this Panasonic. Second is the easiness of the camera. It is very fast and easy to use, but that's actually the problem ...

Fantastic zoom, image stabilization rivals that on the Sony FD series. Image quality is fine for anything 8x10 and smaller. Easy, pre-set function dial is great for beginners, shots on the run. And cameras are FINALLY available in the U.S. Go to www.Panasonic.com, and the site will link you to two authorized retailers of the camera. I got mine for $429, delivery included. Problems: Construction seems a bit flimsy. Not enough manual settings.

I just bought this camera in Singapore. I am very imprinted with the Leica lens and its Mega Image Stabilizer. It give me a nice and natural picture even in a big zoom. BTW, I bought this S$850 (+GST) with Non-Original 128MB and Soft Case on March 2003 Problems: If only this camera came with 3 or 4 MP and added A/S/M Mode, this camera will be the TOP 1. We must be careful with the case, it's plastic. Because I need a better camera, better resolution, better picture, can do manual .... I sold ...

Great Camera for portraits and moments. Well I got me this camera from Japan. It's menu is in English too and desined to use in Europe and USA as well. The great futures like the ultimate Optical zoom (35-400mm at 2,8f) and Mega Image Stabilazer makes you feel really comfortable by weight only 350gr (with batery) and almost pocket size. FZ1 looks is very compact and feels like great in hand. The controls are very economic, so it keeps you to use it very quickly and easy. I didn't find any ...
