This model has a ultra-zoom 12x len from Leica but its quality not like Leica. It's easy for using. When you use "Vivid" mode, you can find that the sharpness and saturation of the photos will be adjust by your camera just like what Adobe Photoshop can do. Problems: Image Stabilizer only effect when your zoom is less than 8x. It's very difficult to focus when the illumination of landscape is not enough. I can see many noise spots when the illumination of landscape is not enough(even ISO 50). ...

Got it about a month ago and so far have taken it to Korea, Chile and taken a few hundred pictures with it. Great camera! The zoom lens is spectacular, very sharp. The image stabilizer works well. The 2MP resolution is not great but, for amateur photography, it is OK. I am especially thrilled however, about the zoom range, which allows me to use all the MP's in the resolution. The menus are a bit confusing at first, but easy to master with a bit of practice and the positioning of the little ...

Some samples (resize and adjustment) are at http://community.webshots.com/user/riccardocappai RickyF1@vizzavi.it - (Sardinia - IT) Panasonic did a really great job with the model FZ1. I mostly take pictures of my Sardinia's natural corners and i'm very surprise for sharp and crisp. Using the vivid color mode the macro are amazing. In general the pictures are well exposured but sometimes a feeble of green tonality appears on pictures. The FZ1 is not a common digital camera, infact the Leica ...

Try finding a 300mm+ long focal length telephoto lens in the 35mm world, with faster than f4 aperture. You simply can't, without costing you an arm and a leg. Now this camera comes with a 35-420mm (35mm equivalent) ZOOM lens, with fast f2.8 aperture all the way through the zoom range, designed by nobody else than Leica. The lens is already such a bargain, that someone is still complaining that it is "only" a 2MP camera? Not to mention that this killer lens comes with optical image ...

All my samples were taken at 55mm(420mm equivalent). http://photos.yahoo.com/sbugch This camera is more than capable to shoot wildlife in a city or outdoor portrait for small prints 4"x6" or for internet. Consider the quality of the pictures 2M pixel resolution is not really a issue. The pictures are in general very sharp and well exposured. Very responsive power zoom - sharpness of the Leica lens is very good upto around 35~40mm (250~280mm 35mm equivalent). Sharpness decline a bit at its ...

I love this camera. It's pictures are crisp and clear. I mostly take pictures of my 15mth old son and have not been dissapointed with the results. There is no lag time once you prefocus(and that is invaluable with a constantly moving child). Great indoors and outdoors(just let the camera do it's job). All modes seem to deliver great photos. All in all- GREAT CAMERA! - I would recommend this camera to anyone who wants an easy camera to operate that takes great pictures and gives you moderate ...

Its the perfect camera for on the road point & shoot photos. The lense range from 35 MM to 420 MM is great for just about anything you want to do. Panasonic did an great job with this model. I would advise anyone to purchase this camera. Its a good all around camera for the money. Problems: The only thing lacking in this camera is that it is competely automatic when it comes to shutter and aperature settings. Perhaps in the next generation these features could be added to the camera.

I used to exploit classic SLR cameras for their rapidity to shoot sport scenes. Digital cameras generally react slower. The FZ1 is my first digital camera. First, I bought it for its amazing Leica zoom and its optical stabilizer. Then I was also very surprised by its rapidity to shoot (using AF lock). I realized that the FZ1 was not a common digital camera. Photos are sharp and remarkable. Macro photos are splendid, using the vivid color mode. The 2 Megapix are enough for common use (10 cm X ...
