I had this camera for almost a year, and it was recently stolen at a party my sister took it to. Other than the fact that it was stolen, this was it's most valuable use... point and shoot at parties. I've owned this camera for more than a year now. All I want to say is up there in the ratings. It's my go-everywhere camera. Problems: Flash is not powerful enough. A bit too heavy for a carry-around camera. Image stabilisation feature compensates.

I have used this camera for about 6 months now and honestly i love it. In daylight the picture are sharp, contrasty and with lovely colours. Noise in lower ISO's is practicaly absent. The inclusion of OIS is really handy in low light situations. The movie mode is amazing (at night too) and the various scenes are very handy. Battery life is better than expected aswell. This camera is underestimated. Its sleek, its stabilized. Takes good pictures - much better that one would do normally- thanks to the stabilization. Best slim compact so far - that I know of in this respect. Excellent cammera, Very happy with performance. I have used a Pentax 5si and I find the FX9, quicker, better feachers, and easier to use. If you are expecting perfection by a digital SLR. granted this camera is not the thinniest, but it feels solid and small enough. I like the anti-shake feature better than the Sony T9. Large 2.5" viewable screen and gains up in low light. The flash is not up to par like Canon Ixus, but still it is better then Sony. i am a longtime reader, first time commentator. i recently brought a fx 9 panasonic as a point and shoot camera that supplememts my nikon d2x's. i do not understand the issues peopple have with noise, i find the camera operates fairly quietly. lieca lens is fantastic, and o.i.s is easily able to be hand held at nearly 1 sec. i would happily recommend this camera to friends.
