the dynamic range on the FX520 was quite impressive with Intelligent Exposure activated. When faced with a scene of high contrast, the image captured still rendered a good amount of details in the highlight and shadow regions. http://picasaweb.google.com/cgegjn/ChinaZhangJiaJie Problems: so far no.

Previous user reviews match my experience. I can't improve on uzin's review, but did want to second those comments. Highlights/Lowlights: 1. Construction and user interface/features exceeded my expectations. 2. The 24mm equiv wide-angle is a dream for landscapes 3. Picture quality is disappointing to me - not as good as my FX01 or the FX35 I borrowed. . Images not sharp - auto focus is poor . More noise at low ISO than the two cameras listed . Battery life not great, probably due to many ...

I bought this camera to replace my newish LX2, which I found to be a bit heavy and large. This is really compact and pocketable. The 25mm wide angle is great, with minimal distortion. Manual controls are useful, but opportunities for their use are really quite limited without a facility for filters. Full optical zoom IQ is not as good as with LX2, with significant deterioration of detail. LCD screen not the best, possibly because it has the dual function of being touch-screen. Flash shots ...

Replaced my DSLR with this due convenience and increasing hassle due to widespread paranoia amongst society branding photographers as terrorists, something pocketable is inherently less likely to attract attention. Prime use for this for me is artistic urban architectural work, hence the choice due to the distortion free lens, it lives up to it's proposed spec and is truly brilliant with no barreling whatsoever - Finally...! The lens is also sharp enough to get by with although shots don't ...

Good quality build, i like the controls and touch screen. Images are good, I really wanted the wide angle in a compact. My other camera is a Fuji f10. Problems: Battery life is short, and video no zoom and no h264 compressed video capture

Very fun camera to use. This camera is feature rich: manual exposure modes, ultra wide 25mm 5x zoom lens, 720p movie recording, truly intelligent auto mode, some useful scene modes, touch screen with AF and AE tracking just to name a few. I've always been a fan of pany's point and shoot series. They are really stylish, easy to use, and well built. This one doesn't disappoint. Image quality is pretty good, not the best for a point and shoot, but good enough if you don't look at your photos at ...

I just bought and took the FX500 on a sunny beach holiday and shot around 350 photos. Here is a quick pros and cons (all previous reviews are very accurate by the way): Pros: - Excellent built quality, all buttons works great together, solid, light and small case - Great 3" touch screen (adjustable brightness), some great touch screen tools, touch to zoom (although a bit slow), pick focus target by touch (then it locks on it permanently), it's great, adjust manual aperture/shutter via touch ...

positive: 25mm wide angle, touch screen, 5x zoom, full manual control and stabilisation, HD video recording (but still no match for a camcorder) negative: biggest problem: Noise above 200 ISO (even noise at 100 ISO if you look at pixels), no optical zoom while filming a video, for this price they should have included RAW files. Verdict: Highly Recommended Also take a look at alternative compacts from panasonic: - FX35: Technically in common with the FX500 positive: cheaper, smaller negative: ...
