Its very hard to take unblurry un-noisy images with this camera indoors. Flash tends to blow everything out so there's no happy medium. The fact the zoom goes so wide is very useful, as is the large screen. Sound quality on the videos is bad, but video picture quality is good. The 7megapixels is almost an irrelivance. I've used a sony point and shoot (older, more expensive, less megapixels) and had better results with it. Ignore the megapixels and go with the best lens. Problems: No direct ...

I have bought this camera for my wife, and to have a pocketable alternative camera myself. My wife is happy with it - the interface is very easy, it's small, and produces good pictures. There is nothing really to complain about, prints are great and on web galleries pics look nice too. Sure, in low light situations there may be some noise or washing out, but those are not the typical shooting conditions for her. Why I like it - there are not that many pocket cameras in the market that have ...

As a professional Wedding photographer and longtime user of the lumix line, I must say this is the finest camera of its kind at any price. I also own the FZ20 and the FZ50, which are very fine instruments. The FX50 fits into my arsenal seemlessly. There is a zero learning curve moving to use with the FX50. It is fantastic as a backup at weddings for use as a very discrete candid capture device. The image quality is sufficient to provide superb quality 8x10 prints to the client, unminipulated ...

This camera has many features that should make it a clear winner; However image quality is why you buy a camera and the FX 50 doesn't cut it despite the hype;I have swapped mine for a Nikon P5000,the difference is amazing.A real shame cos i could have really loved the Lumix!!!!

As other reviews have noted, there's a fair amount of noise in dark areas of images even at ISO 100 but you've got to blow them up a lot for it to be really noticeable. If you look at this as a snapshot camera and don't expect to create immaculate 11"x14" prints I doubt the average buyer will be disappointed with the image quality. As should be expected from a lens this compact with this zoom range, it is soft at the extremes of the range (very soft at full telephoto while full wide-angle is ...

I am in full agreement with 'A Nation' a previous written reviewer. I can't believe that they allowed this camera on the market....Shot my first 200 exposures on the DX50. in every which way possible, utilizing all of the ISO's right up to 1250, with flash and available light indoor and out. Compared to my Dimage 60 at half the price I cannot believe how soft the image reproduction is. I had not seen noise like this in the Dimage 60 nor the soft non cutting edges nothing is in sharp focus. ...
