I've carried it in my pocket 3 months (it's now 3-Dec-07) and captured images I would have missed as I don't always carry my pro camera. The FX100 does well in bright light (ISO 100 and below). The 28mm-equivalent wide angle lens is a major plus. I'm amazed that this 176g (6.2oz) pocket camera records up to 88 minutes of good 30fps VGA video with sound (22 min [2GB] max/take) on an 8GB SDHC card. Problems: There are many features; read the manual several times. The sliding ON/OFF switch ...

I chose this camera for its small size, Leica wide angle lens, solid construction and larger sensor than the competition. I am very pleased with the photos. Noise is acceptable up to 1250 ISO. Flash performance is fine for a compact. The menu takes a little getting used to. Face detection would have been appreciated. My primary camera is a Canon 30 D. Problems: No problems.

I've had it for a week now and it takes excellent pictures, even better than the sd850 that I had. At 12MP you can crop all you want. Also it has a decent flash for a Ultra Compact. With the clearer lens, and the 12MP I would recommend this camera over the canon sd850. Problems: There is no facial recognition, and no zoom on video mode (videos are of good quality though). Also, no auto rotate on the display on the camera for when you are reviewing the pictures, or maybe I just didn't ...

Was attracted by it's 12.2 megapixels CCD and Leica Elmarit 28mm wide angle lens. Bought for 6 weeks, taken over 500 pictures both indoors and outdoors. Problems: Flash not powerful enough. Terrible noise with ISO400 or above. Can't see the big difference with 12.2 megapixels pictures. Why can't Panasonic make dated pictures just like other manufacturers(user can choose with or without dates on pictures on the menu setting) or date stamp afterwards but retain the original picture pixels ...

I usually use a dSLR for most of my photography, but I have never been happy with Point and Shoots, which I like to throw in the pocket and go... This camera surprised me across the board -- it is easy to use, has terrific image quality, and a sturdy very compact build. The image quality I am getting from this camera is similar to my older Canon s80 camera, which is quite an accomplishment. The vibration reduction works as adveritsed. The 12 mp allows you to get great big shots that you can ...

The quality of photos is good and the noise at ISO400 is acceptable. I satisfied with the performance of FX100 for so many functions in such a small DC Problems: NO
