10.1 megapixels | 2.5" screen | 30 – 120 mm (4×)

Budget slimline 10 megapixel point and shoot compact with wider than average 30-120mm (equiv.) zoom range and Pansonic's well respected MEGA OIS optical image stabilization system. Good feature mix and point and shoot simplicity thanks to an 'Intelligent Auto' mode. DMC-FS20 is virtually identical (but has a slightly larger screen). April 2009

Opinion: I bought this camera after previously owning a 2 year old Advent MP8 (PC world own brand) digital camera.
Imagine my horror to discover that the images from this Panasonic are no where near as good as the old camera.
Images suffer lots of noise even on the lowest ISO setting (ISO 100, why not lower??), also even on minimal compression the images suffer lots of JPEG artifacts.
The camera has an Auto scene mode, which selects the wrong scene most of the time, and it also fails to focus accurately in lower light conditions.
I was expecting more from a Good brand like Panasonic, the camera does look fantastic, and has good build, but it fails to deliver decent images which is most important for a camera.
Camera was returned to supplier.

Problems: JPEG aritfacts even at lowest compression.
Poor focussing in low light even with AF assist lamp on.
Image noise even on lowest ISO setting.
Auto Scene selector selects the wrong setting in most cases and is a gimmick.
