Just yesterday bought this camera and I really love it! I did extensive research before purchase, the main competitor was Canon 350D, but Olympus won! I bought so called double kit, that is the best offer currently in market. Problems: Problems? Not really. I would call it - space for improvement! ;) The viewfinder is fine, but I think that I will byu ME-1. The buttons and functions are easy to use, configurable and the camera is nearly perfect! :))

Cant really write about all the good points this camera has as it would take too long. The review here is already spot on. One thing i will add though. The use of the screen for camera set up does not really use the batteries all that much. you can turn it on/off by pressing one button. Problems: Small viewfinder maybe an issue to some though it isnt any small than my other camera. Start up time is about 1 second (firmware 1.2) and may pose a problem to the very best of photographers.

I had this for a month. After thoroughly reviewing several models within my budget and requirement- d50, sp9500, 5d and fz30, I chose e-500 without hesitation. Image are good although max ISO is only 1600. I wish it can go up further. Since Olympus is using the 4/3 system, I hope there is no problem to obtain lenses that will fit. I have the 14-45mm Zuiko and 55-200mm Sigma which fits my needs very well. So far I have no big issue with the camera and I love it so much. I wish I had explored ...

I've been using the E500 for six months now, and it gets better for me all the time, remembering always the value point it sits in. The strongest point for me is the handling and ease of use, combined with a large screen. I have a friend who bought a 20D at the same time and - apart from the build quality - the E500 wins hands down. We have done comparison shots and the Oly beats it just about in every area. Plus, he doesn't have IR shutter release capability. Metering is more accurate on ...

I just got this camera about 2 weeks ago. Frankly I have been very impressed with the overall value of this camera. Please note I used the word VALUE. Is this camera as good as the D200 no. Did I pay 2 Grand. No again. Thus the word value. The quality of the camera, particularly for the beginning DSLR user such as myself is excellent. Photo quality is very good and the price for the features provided beats the others hands down. Problems: The camera does not autofocus well in low ...

The camera is well build have excellent options and Zuiko 4/3 lenses are great. I get great results with EX-25 extension too. :)
