Yesterday I took about 25 pictures with my Olympus e420/14-54 lens, shot in Raw, ISO 100.This was the first time using my new computer setup. Win 7 instead of XP and a whole new install of all the Photo editing software that I own. Also Lightzone v4.0 was recently released. I ran my pictures thru the new version of Lightzone, my installed copy of Sagelight and PSE11 using ACR. Found out some thing unexpected. As shot the pictures of yesterday in RAW (org) are 3720 x 2800. Both Lightzone and...
Hello, I want to shoot in bright sunlight + snow at high altitude (mountaineering) and on the water (sailing dinghies). A marumi CP filter and the excellent lens hoods of my E420 took care for this until now. With my OMD and the 45 mm, max shutter speed of 1/4000 is limiting my aperture choice on the water. Hoya offers a relatively cheap set with UV, CP and 3 stop ND filter. Is the quality ok or is it better to buy a B+W CP and ND filter separately? Is it a good idea to buy a set up ring...
hi everyone, i just have a few quick questions about upgrading from a e420 to a e3 on behalf of a friend besides size/build quality and weather sealing what other upgrades can he expect? is the image quality any better? (iso performance mainly), my understanding is that they both have the same sensor? also is the prism any bigger? is it even worth upgrading? and any other info, tips, advise would be great, thanks for your help!
Hi guys, Im new to this forum, so go easy if I have posted this in the wrong section. So basically Im looking to buy my second DSLR and Im at a crossroads. My first camera was an Olympus E420 (which I dropped and broke :( ), and so Im looking for an upgrade. Ive watched a fair few reviews on the two cameras and it would seem that the main conclusion is that the 650D has a touchscreen, wheras the D5200 has better image quality (and more MP, not that really matters to me at this level) and...
Hello, I bought an OMD to replace my e 420 on mountaineering trips. The E420 stayed in the car most of the time because to bulky. For the same reason, i skipped the kit the 12-50 and only bought the 45 mm for portraits of the kids. Later on i am planning to buy a quality zoom for travel ( the pana 12-35 or the expected oly). What lens should i buy for mountaineering? I am undecided between tHe 12/2 and the 9-18! Limited weight and bulk are important. I also want to limit my lens...
I'm a newbie in photography but I'm very enthusiastic about it, so I've decided to change my Fuji AX250(which makes worst pictures than my phone - Galaxy S) with real camera. :)The problem is the money, so I've decided to buy second hand camera. But there are so many...I want to make nature shots, landscapes, and sometimes - night shots - you know moon, some bright stars, pretty city lights. In my price reach are Canon 350D, Canon 1000D; Nikon D70, Nikon D60, Nikon D40, Nikon D3000; Olympus...
Hi i have at the moment a camera that has a few years, a Olympus E-420, with the following:-14-42mm kit lens- lensbaby composer(olympus mount obviously)- 50mm OM (1.4-16)And i'm thinking of buyng the 650D, now the question comes to this i was thinking of buyng some lenses that i was looking for and found for the olympus and was wondering if you guys could help me find the corespondent for the canon or compatible with canon(sigma or similar). the lenses i was looking at were:olympus 14-54...
I'm torn, My first dslr was an Olympus E-420, which I still have, and at one stage I also hastily bought the 50-200mm to go with it (spent a fair bit, but it's a great lens), so I have my E-420 with the 50-200 hanging oddly off of it (and my kit lenses).I'm looking to upgrade, though I'm not sure If I should stay with Olympus or if I should change systems to something a little more available (e.g. Canon or Nikon), with a broader range of accessories and lenses. Zuiko lenses are just so...
