I have a new Olympus EM-1, a retired E-1 and a Sigma DP1. I can honestly say that most of my very best photos, not including action photos, have all been from the DP1. Photo types were landscape, portrait, and florals. Should I grab a DP2M while they are still available as retirement is around the corner and I hope to have even more time to photograph and maybe experiment with some B&W. There are many good photographers in this group and I hope to hear from you. Thanks in advance for your...
Hi, I'm getting an intermittent "Card Error!" on my E-1. It will turn on fine and I can shoot for a while but eventually, particularly after it goes to sleep, it won't work and the card error comes on the screen. Sometimes if I just turn it off and then on again it will resume working. Sometimes it takes several on-off cycles. I have changed memory cards and it doesn't make a difference and the cards all work fine on my E-520. Is this a problem that others have experienced? My guess is that...
My granddaughter has reached the stage where she wants to learn real photography. I was going to give her my old E 500 to learn with, but it doesn't work now. So I bought an E-1 body only on ebay. It did not have an eyecup with it and I can't find one. It is a round one that appears to have locking lugs. I have never seen one. If anyone has one to sell or knows where I can find one, I would be very grateful. Thanks. Jony --JonySky
I heard a lot of praise for the CCD DSLRs such as the E-1, A350, and K100D Super. Some say they have better color rendering some say they have a "film-like look". I'm eager to actually experiment and test as to what these claims actually mean and so am thinking of getting a used 2nd hand DSLR with a CCD sensor. I am not considering Nikon because I do not have any Nikon glasses atm. The Sony CCD DSLRs such as the A350, A380, A390, appear to have the newest CCD (for a DSLR not including Leica...

Hello, I am happy new owner of old camera(2004) which seems to be well cared for (18000 clicks)... my E-1 has firmware for body 1.1 and for lens(14-45mm) 1.0 and got also 40-150 I and my questions are: -is it worth upgrading it and what would i get that would be better, for now I did around 1000 clicks and focusing seems to be OK, it is not so fast as my E-520 but I understand that E-1 is older -is possible to shut off the shutter sound confirmation on S-AF? -is possible to change from JPEG...
I have three 4/3 lenses that work fine on my E-M5 but I would like to buy a 4/3 camera just to play around with and don't want to spend much for that purpose, there are some good deals on the E-1 and E-520, the owner reviews I read so far seem to favor the E-1. I would appreciate hearing your opinion based on your experience with one or both of these cameras. I thank you in advance.
