I know I am late to the party here and I expect Olympus to introduce an upgrade fairly soon. But, I did buy it in today's market and it will probably remain a viable choice for a while. I was attracted to getting a new mirrorless system like the Fuji XT-1 but decided that I was just replacing my existing compact and not my current DSLR. A mirrorless system will have to wait for now. Since I was replacing my compact, the xz-2 seemed to be a top choice along with the Fuji X-20. I was about to ...

It's great camera because it is on sale now. You can get it as low as 230$ from Japan with free shipping! Shoots RAW, has manual controls, has excellent picture quality, decent AUTO mode for beginners, very quick in everything it does (shoots RAW + JPEG). Cons I've gotten two little dirt samples very quickly. I own it for about 2 months. I hope they are the last, it doesen't affect the picture quality. Mediocre video I think. It's somewhat unstable. See my video: ...

What i like - fast start-up time - fast AF - IQ, colours, details - touchscreen - art filters, hdr - art bracketing - build quality Would be better - customization: why so few functions in Fn1?, useless AF point button (I have touchscreen) on dial ring, lack of fast access to raw, why HDR is set apart from picture modes and Art Filters menu? - heavy and not fully pocketable, no wrist strap - small sensor

I am not going to do a long review. I am sure that has been done by much better reviewers. I just want to add a few thoughts and observations. 1. Why is the LCD review screen the furthest from the back? For instance, when you lay the camera on its back (so it does not tip over) it rests flat and flush on the LCD. Its going to get scratched way too quickly. I am not a fan of having to buy accessories like screen protectors when a small design tweak could have prevented it. Maybe the screen ...

This is a great all-rounder. The OOC Jpegs are nice and you can tweak the noise reduction, sharpness and other settings if you want. The best feature is the click wheel around the lens. In Aperture Priority mode it is used to adjust the aperture. If you flick the switch on the front it can then be used for manual focus. It then moves freely with no clicks and works perfectly for focus. I use the manual focus for video as this provides a solution to the camera's only serious flaw: the ...

After having the G15 and the S110 (still have it) I decided to get the XZ2 (purely due to the gorgeous design and great price, down from Euro 599 to Euro 279), I had the XZ1 and loved it but the low light IQ was only average, the video quality was poor, and the AF was only ok i.t.o speed and accuracy in low light conditions. The XZ2 is a different animal though, I've had it 2 weeks now and thought I should give a quick review. Its very well built as are more high end compacts, but the XZ2 is ...

I bought the Olympus XZ-2 after an exhaustive comparison between 4 cameras. The XZ-2, Canon G15, Sony XR100, Nikon P7700. I chose the XZ-2 because it has excellent color rendition. More accurate than any of the others I tested. The resolution and lens sharpness is excellent for a point and shoot. The menu system is well thought out. The build quality is great. The Nikon P7700 and the Sony RX100 were close contenders. But ultimately I felt the quality of images (flesh tones in particular) were ...

Best compact I've owned so far. At first I was disappointed because I expected better but the more I use it the better it gets. I love the touchscreen,  it fits easily into a jacket pocket, the flash is powerful and is very flexible. The focus is fast and accurate,   only minor problems in low light, other cameras have bigger focusing problems! The image quality is good although I was hoping for better. At high iso it has a rather harsh needle pattern spoiling the image a bit.  Other cameras ...

The Olympus XZ-2 iHS is my carry around camera.  Fast bright lens, fast focus.  I have had this camera since it was introduced and is an excellent backup to my Olympus E-5 and E-3 cameras.

i'm a XZ Olympus lover.... So, after 19 months of happiness with the "old man" XZ-1, the brand new "2" was a natural choice for me. same excellent features like: Optic quality/ colours output/ flash with RC mode and you can put an EVF IN THE SAME TIME not like an EPL / Very well made and good macro modes, and ice on the cake: ND filter and 100 iso minimum (great for harsh light condition, or waterfall shoot). improve features: flip screen of course ;) with a better resolution and colours ...
