Good quality pics overall. No useful customizations (dials & buttons), yet many jpg picture mode customizations that few will use, want or need (if you need this level of automation, you will do it post in RAW form). Many issues with this camera leave me wanting to teach the programmers how to do their job and fix the short-comings. The pic quality and optics are goog when ISO is below 800. Above 800 degrades quickly. No program shift. In any autoISO mode, no ISO number on display so you ...

I have this little but serious compact always with me when there'some possibility of serious shooting. I would like to have AE-L and a more sensible auto ISO work but everything else is just perfect.

This is definitely the best choice when it comes to compacts. The pictures look amazingly natural and the big, fast lens allows me to take pictures without much hassle. I don't have to think about focusing or movement: it seems that no matter what I do, in normal circumstances, the images taken are sharp and spot on. I would never go in a trip with some other camera... I repeat myself: the perfect point-and-shoot. Oh... and did I mentioned the background blur and the portraits ? Amazing...

I love this little camera. long time Oly user (still use my OM10 frequently) and have cameras from both the 4/3 and micro 4/3 range. I bought this on a trip to Toronto after I relaised I had a great phopto opp there but had left my camera at home. I am so pleased that I did - it's an amazing little camera. The image quality is great - right from max apperture in low light right up to with the ND filter on outside in brilliant sinshine. The lens is fast enough that this can be used very ...

Great pocket camera. Sharp and good at lowlight. Problems: I hate the auto NR. That's all for it's weakness.

I wished for a decent replacement for my DSLR to carry 'always' with me. I wished for a camera that did excellent RAW files and had a powerful lens. Because I often missed my DSLR. It should be fast in terms of readiness and focusing. It should be compact so I could carry it with me always and everywhere. I found the XZ-1 to do this job. I carry it around for almost a year now and took about 10000 pictures with it - including experiments and stuff I deleted. The Art-filters are a nice ...

Just updating what I've previously written... I was unhappy with slugglishness of my camera, but it has improved since I updated the firmware. Formatting the SD card helped too (should have done that first I know). Also, I was mistaken about the raw files not opening in ACR/lightroom - I thought my plugins were up to date, but apparently not! That is all - hopefully my previous review hasn't put anyone off. It is a cool camera!!

I have had this camera for a couple of weeks (as a replacement for canon G10) and can't decide whether or not to keep it. I am really impressed with the lens on it, and the 'super macro' mode is great. It's a nice looking camera, feels well made and is a convenient size/weight. I don't find the lack of AEL/AFL button to be a problem (mentioned in reviews), as a half press of the shutter works well enough for me. My main issue with it is the sluggishness. It's very responsive when taking a ...
