I purchased this camera to use while sailboat racing. The small size & weatherproof capability being the primary factors. When I first took the camera out of the box I walked outside & took some shots of a tree in the office courtyard. Heavy overcast, the results were abysmal. Noise so bad that it was very visible on the camera monitor. I've taken a few hundred pictures under a wide variety of circumstances. The general impression is of a fun, easy to use, sophisticated little camera. The bad news is that the lens is quite slow, and not as sharp or distortion-free (at wide angle) as I'd like. Overall the flash does a good job, though given that it does not reach very far, and the lens speed, it happens fairly frequently that a high iso values is automatically selected for indoor flash pictures, resulting in a noisy ...

We needed a small camera that could be taken along without being too bulky. This was just the thing! It is a supplement to the C-2040Z that I normally use. Despite the small size, I think the camera is well designed for even my large hands. Get the leather case from Olympus - the camera is just too nice to allow it to rumble around at the bottom of a bag or pocket.
