revised, I think this is a surprisingly good camera but there are many problems. If you hold it just right and it has a lot of light it takes great photos. Everything else is a crap shoot. Worth 100 dollars. Great idea , great looks but not a great performer. Problems: Its important to realize this is the first breed of relatively small 8 megapixel chips and there are problems not typical of olympus like whitebalance but can be fixed in post processing. the noise and high contrast shots and ...

A practical light weight compact point and shoot camera. The image seems to be over processed. Image detail and contrast are both very high. The ISO 800 and 1600 are ideal for lowlight action and candy shooting. Problems: Slow recycle time not for brust shooting

I use this camera since Novembre beside a semi professional Olympus C-5050. For an everage user, under daylight and in small rooms this camera produces good images with correct exposure and focus. Long lasting accus, handy, compact a nice body with a large display on witch you can mostly see what you want. Maybe that all cameras in this class have this and that problem but this camera promises technical mutch more as he real provides. It´s an exclusive toy for ideal conditions! Problems: If ...

ARTEFACTS ON ALL EDGES, I AM SO MAD. Do you care about picture quality? ON YOUR SCREEN? I really do!! Problems: If I had known that there would be artefacts everywhere, and it would look worse than my 1.2 mp Casio exilim (with a disposable camera lens), then I would NEVER HAVE TOUCHED THIS CAMERA. I don't know if it's a manufacturing fault or if hell happened to the lens, but whatever it is, it was not worth the money involved. In fact if someone gave me this camera and I tried it out and ...

I've had this for 6 months, and I take it everywhere. Excellent construction makes for a durable camera. Big, sharp display is very useful. Has a lot of features, which is great, but it takes a bit of time to learn where everything is. Battery life is good, but not great. Startup and lag times are very short - it's snappy. Being an 8MP camera, it can pick up a lot of detail in the right situation, but those situations don't often occur. The image quality, in my opinion, is lacking. My ...

Stylus800 is a nice looking camera, the polished metal body feels great in your hand or in your trousers pocket, the LCD screen is beautiful - large and sharp. It's easy to learn how to navigate between the different menus - it's much easier than on my C8080. But this nice little camera doesn't give me the results I expected from an Olympus 8 Mp - sorry, I compare it to my C8080 again - which delivers MUCH SHARPER AND CLEANER pictures. I don't know what's the problem with the stylus pictures ...

My first Digital was an Olympus D400Zoom. The Camera takes fantastic pictures for being a 1.3MB camera. The Stylus I have not been so impressed with and I have found out why. Being use to a point and click camera like the D400, there is a little more to do with Stylus. As the write up on this web site has indicated there is quite a lot of noise, which I have noticed. Comparing the D400 and the Stylus I have found that the stylus does in fact produce better pictures with the same kind of ...

This is the best camera I have ever owned for backpacking and foreign travel. I've been using it for four months and love it. I especially appreciate its small size, light weight, rugged construction and weather resistance. The mechanical lens cover lets me stick the camera in my backpack or pocket without worrying about smudging or damaging the lens. (As an extra precaution I leave the camera in preview mode so if the "on" button should be accidentally pressed the lens will not extend.) Batt ...

I did use the Olympus quite a lot on a longer trip in China. Whilst on the road I struggled with the LCDs quality (low contrast, poor colors). I wasn't sure whether my (brand new) camera is that bad or just the LCD. I checked a couple of pictures in a street photosshop and was o.k. with the result. At home, with a proper, high quality screen, I was able to assess the picture quality more carefully: overall rather shocking. Image Quality: + fairly good in cities etc. + white balance o.k. + ...
