The Mju780 is a very good, well built, point and shoot camera. It is ultra compact and weatherproof. The dual stabilisation systems work well, reducing shake and unwanted blur. I have been using my olympus mju780 for a week (including some test shots around where i live and a weekend trip to Rotorua). I find this camera overall a pretty good performer. Night photos are great and I do think the bright capture technology makes a big difference. Took some stunning photos from an atmospheric italian restaurant. However, i find the day photos disappointing. I have played around a lot - white balance settings and different scene modes, but my pictures always seemed too ...

I had waited for the Olympus 780 to be released as I wanted the auto face recognition feature (as opposed to the 760). Now the camera arrives and it doesn't have the feature. I check the Olympus website and they have changed the specified features to not include this. What's going on?? This is not good business. This is obviously not the camera I thought I was getting. I will be contacting Olympus as well and I'm ready to ask for a refund if the situation isn't straightened out.
