Took great pics while snorkeling in Alaska and the Carribean. At least when compared to a disposable underwater 35mm camera. Good image quality in sunlight. OK flash pictures. Some low light shots are soft. Dislikes: Resets user settings when shut off. Difficult to use controls underwater (like when snorkeling). My summary: If you want an all around camera that you can drop and get wet, this is a good choice. If you plan to have another primary camera when you are out of harm's way, that is ...

Nice piece of rock !! i have no worries when my 720sw is in my daughters' hands... even in my naughty nephews' hands... handy for me as my family do swimming and snokerling oftenly... it's a camera with basic features... just the basic !!! Problems: Dislikes about this camera : 1. reset back to P mode whenever camera switch on 2. USELESS anti-shake - doesn't Olympus know their product have high noise on high ISO ??!!! 3. long battery charging time 4. only if the zoom can get wider 5. only if ...

I shot several hundred underwater images in the Virgin Islands with this camera and was generally pleased with the results. I forced it to flash most of the time and kept the ISO at 100 to minimize noise. The snorkeling shots all had a strong bluish color, but they cleaned up nicely with Adjust-Auto Color in PhotoShop. I attached a thick rubber band to the strap for greater security against loss. The dry land photos were average to disappointing compared to my Sony R1, but it was great to be ...

The camera is like an Abrams tank with 1930's technology. It will take the shock of a short fall and some time in the water but thats about all its good for. The only negative about the construction is that the buttons are really small for a person with large hands. As far as features it comes pretty loaded for a camera in its price range but it would be nice to more manual controls. It is also pretty easy to use. Problems: Hmmm, how can I put it? The image quality on this camera is ...

OK so it's not perfect - compared with my Olympus 8080 its performance is dull, but I didn't buy it for that. What I wanted was a go-anywhere camera so I could grab shots I wouln't have time or opportunity to get with the bigger camera - and it does all of that perfectly. So don't count what it doesn't do but what it does - with this little go-anywhere beauty, practically invisible - more like a piece of costume jewellery - I'll never miss another shot. Just one point - I might forget which ...

I need a waterproof camera for my backpacking activites. A 'dry' camera with an underwater housing is too heavy and bulky so this style is the only choice. I already have last years Pentax WP 5 meg and I draw comparisons between it and the 720. Firstly, as we all want the best possible pictures, lets examine image quality. Outdoors the 720 is poor to fair and thats all. Indoors it is just plain lousy and thats that. I thought I might be doing something wrong so I went through every setting ...

I really liked the design and functionality of the camera. I spend a lot of time outdoors and having a waterproof camera was excellent. It is small enough to fit in a pocket, so I could take it with me wherever I wanted. I also didn't have to worry too much about my kids using it, since it was so rugged. I found it to be very comfortable to hold and use, and I loved the screen on it. Unfortunately, I found the picture quality to be very poor. This bad quality outweighed everything good ...
