Opinion: Strong build quality and metal chassis. I've taken mine snorkelling, fishing and into snow and it's never missed a beat. Very easy to turn on with the sliding front cover. Battery life is good, but goes from an indicated charge level to nothing without warning. If you can live with the poor optics, it does what it's meant to quite well.

Problems: Start-up is slow - far too slow, but the biggest problem with this camera is the appalling barrel distortion. Granted, it's a small lens, but I've never seen optics as poor as this on any camera. Battery life is a bit hit or miss.

Opinion: First time I use it ruined in the water, had no guarantee of olympus.

Primeira vez que fui usar na água ela estragou, não teve a garantia da olympus.

Opinion: This camera is well made and feels good quality. The lens barrier is too easy to open and activate the camera in your pocket.
This could be the main cause of poor battery perfomance. Suffered from "Battery Empty" too quickly in my opinion (141 shoots from full charge).
Focus takes a time and the time between shot and storage is quite painful.
Image quality is poor. Even at 10mp the images are "Average" at best.
There is an excellent range of scenes to choose from and there are some good features.
I've purchased this primarily for its waterproof credentials and these need to be evaluated. I will hang on to this camera, but I'm already considering an alternative pocket camera.

Problems: Accidental power on
Poor Focus
Poor image quality
Poor Battery perfomance

Opinion: Purchased as a companion to my E500 based on experience of using a Stylus 790 from work. Good solid feel and construction - yet small form factor that makes it convenient to carry nearly anywhere anytime. 30 minutes reviewing the manual and exploring revealed more features than I'll ever use - and simple menu and control system to access the features. Needed something for wet conditions and this works well.

Problems: none

Opinion: Just bought this camera and it's awful! Image quality very poor. Takes forever before
you can take your next photo. The screen is by far the worst quality I have ever seen.
Bought it simply for it's underwater / rugged features, but now, I shall return it. Save
your money folks, this is simply a 'gimmick' camera!
