I know this has probably been asked a million times but opinions change, firmwares occasionally get updated etc. etc. so... Basically, I'm kinda new to all this but I've wanted a "proper" camera for while but I know I'd never use a full frame DSLR enough to warrant the cost of body/lens/etc. I suppose I want what most do; big sensor, decent zoom, fast lens, EVF, Wi-Fi, good video and all in a small-ish all-in-one body so I can take it anywhere with relative ease. My current short-list...
Somehow I got both my Stylus 1 and my E-M10 to present in the on-screen displays (such as the SCP and the Art menu) just a subset of the camera's art modes. Now, I want to retrieve some of the modes that I left out and omit others. I've scoured the manuals for both cameras till I'm bloody sick of it, and I can't find out how to do it. I'd be forever grateful for some help. --Davidpbase.com/morepix
When I select Beach&Snow, there is always a sequence of 3 photos that are taken. Is this normal or did I turn on a specvial feature (I can't de-select the sequence in the shutter menu in this mode). If this is "on purpose", can someone explain the idea of taking a sequence in this mode?
Have not seen anything regarding the Olympus Stylus 1 on sale for Black Friday (or beyond). Will Olympus usually announce sales, or is it a wait and see with them. Was looking for something like the Columbus Day sale ($100 discount) or a more aggressive price reduction. I did not see anything on the site so far indicating any sales. Has anyone seen or heard of upcoming sales for Olympus, especially for the Stylus 1? Thanks, Mike
I'll be taking a cruise to Alaska in late June and doing some land excursions including several days in Denali National Park. I'd really like to take only one camera. I know the reach of the Stylus 1 isn't enough for most wildlife but I'd like to go light with a fast lens like the Stylus 1. Having been to Alaska before I don't expect to get spectacular wildlife shots on this type of "family vacation." So, what do you think?
HI Quite new to the photography world and reading hundreds of reviews of everything from CanonS120 to Sony RX10 has my head spinning. Hoping to get some guidance from the people who seem to know what they are talking about. My background in photography doesn't extend beyond the use of smartphone cameras. I am thinking of purchasing a proper camera to create better memories than what i can with my smartphone now. The top specs are: Portable - to be used atleast couple of times a week in the...
feature Gee, the other night I took a series of night shots with my new K-5 and they all came out blurry, even though the camera was on a sturdy tripod. Thought cause may be using shutter button to start exposure, or maybe wind? It was very windy at the time! Or, maybe SR needs to be disabled for tripod exposures? I know the K-3 is all the rage right now, but I am just starting out with a brand new K-5 and I'm very happy with it. Just learning. K-5 with 18-135 WR on Manfrotto Tripod Amtrak...
I read that the Olympus Stylus 1 battery can be recharged via usb. However, the reviewer went on to say about usb charging with windows xp, vista, 7, 8 etc. This left me wondering if windows is needed as part of the charging process or if it can be recharged via any usb ports e.g. a usb port found in a car radio? Thank you for any help.
For a long time Amazon had an availability date of 11/28 posted, but no more. And I find no news about possible release here or anywhere else I can search. So I'm wondering if Olympus has cancelled the release of this model and I'm the only person who missed their announcement. Does anyone out there have any news? --Davidwww.pbase.com/morepix
