Abysmal battery life on rechargeables. Excellent point&shoot photo quality. Great controls. Manual mode good as well. Low light performance was great. Movie mode is awkward - movies are not an Olympus' forte. Problems: Abysmal battery life made me go for another p/s camera - Nikon. Olympus is not even interested that the camera has a problem with rechargeable batteries. They just say that another camera is coming out that will perform better. I don't want to afford the Olympus ...

It takes work to get the best from this camera. But I have never seen a more extensive depth of menu controls yet with important controls quickly available. It's not the quickest to shoot. But with an accurate live-histogram display, low noise, total lack of purple fringing and excellent resolution, it's the next best thing to a semi-pro SLR - and it fits in your shirt pocket. Did I mention manual exposure on this camera is so accurate and easy to use that it's actually better than Auto? Is ...

Although made of plastic, the overall construction feels very sturdy and ergonomic. The build-quality is very good. The camera takes excellent photographs. Very crisp, with vivid color, correctly exposed. It has a hot shoe, full Manual mode, Aperture priority, Shutter priority and a large 2.5" screen. What I don't like: 1. Relatively slow shot to shot times even with the High Speed Type H cards 2. LCD screen not high resolution 3. Occasional focus problems Bottom line: Since Olympus does not ...

stay away from this one! had camera for three months now and over 90% of the photos are blurred images. that is if you use the zoom, shoot indoors or in low light.the fake image stabilization is a joke and the auto focus can't focus! If you need a camera that takes excellent pictures only outdoors, in full sunlight and with no zoom than buy this camera. better yet buy mine! i'd love to get rid of it. Problems: pictures blur when zoom in use!autofocus can't focus indoors with normal to low ...

Olympus Stated that the problems with recharagble battery will be solve by updating the latest firmware version, I update my camera , but still the problem is not solved. One of the worst battery life camera , i have ever seen. When the camera's battery indicater indicates the battery finish alram , the camera is very very slow then, especially in the recycling the flash , almost it takes 12 seconds between shots. Problems: My request to Olympus Company is that not to make this kind of ...

I have owned this camera for 8 months and use it very regularly. The photos are just excellent. Others who posted comments saying the pics are out of focus must be doing something wrong. I am just back from a trip to the Angel Falls in Venezuela and used Lithium AA batteries for the first time. I got 417 photos on Landscape mode, with flash and fill-in flash on all pics and the 2 1/2 inch screen on all the time from one set of batteries. I had updated my firmware before the trip. Great ...

I bought this to replace an old and tired C40 Zoom and as far as the features and performance are concerned, I'm nore than happy. I bought it mainly for the ability to add different lenses and an external flash, although having seen the price of these now I suspect I may never take advantage of these features!! The large LCD is great, but the resolution on it is a bit sub-standard which means trying to use the manual focus option is a bit tricky. Problems: DO NOT attempt to use Ni-MH AA ...

My first digital camera was a Olympus D-340L 1.3MP which I use as a backup now that I have the SP-350. I am very impressed with the quality and super picture quality and easy menu operation. It took me about a half day to figure the menu out. I cheated a few times looking in the manual. The manual leaves a lot to be desired and was not written for the novice. Especially setting the dual clocks. Overall I am very satisified. The super macro mode is enticing. I do believe I could ...

Overall a great P&S to supplement my DSLR. I like raw file capability, the hot shoe and manual control. Problems: Mine initially refused to work with rechargeable NIMH's, always complaining they were low or empty when they were freshly charged. Several others have posted about this fault so it seems to be more than just a problem with my camera alone. Olympus did fix this problem when I sent it in for repair with a new firmware (version 1.3). If you buy this camera and it does not already ...
