Got my wife this for point & shoot to carry in her purse. She loves it for ease of use and very compact and can keep it in her purse. I use a higher end camera and find the auto-focus on the Stylus 300 poor even in the day and especially at night, the flash very insufficient at night (only OK as fill in flash in the day), the camera could be quicker on start up and in between picture times. I bought my wife a Canon G3 and she never used it because it was too complicated and big for her. My ...

Several weeks ago, I bought the Stylus 300 Digital as a replace for my old D490z. I really like the size, speed and feel of the camera, but I think the image quality could be better. The contrast and sharpening of the pictures appears to be over emphasized. Plus, as many people have mentioned, the weak flash combined with a slow lens makes it a little difficult for taking indoor pictures. Overall, it is a fine point-and-shoot camera for taking snapshots, just do not expect anything more.

All ok apart from no audio for video and poor quality of flash at night. Problems: Yes, camera broke down after a week (lens barrier didn't activate camera or zoom). Sent off to Olympus, over a month later got camera back, however, with ALL accessories missing including the battery so I couldn't even test whether the camera was repaired or not. Bad quality and poor service. Will return. Another problem I thought was that the battery cannot be charged while in the camera.

This is my first digital camera. I like its compact size, quality of construction and image quality. However, after only 3 weeks of use, the camera is now "dead in the water" - it won't turn on. I now have it packed up and ready to send to Olympus for repair. Problems: Has anyone else had the problem wherein when you slide the lens cover open, the camera will not turn on? The green and yellow lights beside the viewfinder blink, but nothing else happens. I tried various reset procedures, ...

This is my first digital. The size and apparent rugged construction are nice features. Problems: Like another reviewer I miss a spot meter. I have had a consistent problem with over exposure in bright sunlight situations in "P" mode.

Images is what counts. I think it takes great shots, yes in dim lighting you will get some fuzzy shots but my fuji does the same if not worse. I think sound would be nice but really what are you buying it for, snapping pictures. The battery life surprised me a lot, long life. The D-560z eats batteries like crazy, even good rechargables at that.I'll keep it.Took it on vacation to wedding got awsome shots. Problems: Had mine about 3wks now with no problems at all.

Traded in a Canon s200 to buy this camera. First picture I took was outside the store. It was a bright sunny day yet the flash fired ....? I forced the flash off and took several pictures outside - they were quite sharp and well exposed. Indoor pictures were a bit tougher to expose properly with the flash. I kept trying to take a picture of my fireplace to no avail. All of these photos came out dark except for a reflection of the flash on the shiny brass trim. I guess the preflash the camera ...

We purchased this camera for a trip to Europe. Had looked at Nikon's new coolpix models but chose the Olympus mostly due to the battery in the camera. Charger and auto transformer in one. Used the camera for about 8 hours a day and only once did the battery even warn us it was getting low,( we ran it out anyway). Purcahsed a 256MB Fujifilm X-D card and had 400 shots to play with. I was surprised that the panorama feature did not work with the Fuji card. Shot and deleted everyday. Poor ...

Make no doubt - this is an absolutely sensational camera. It's a small and rugged beast that actually feels like a camera. as opposed to some other brands. I purchased this model for a family member as I own the Olympus C50 and highly recommended Olympus. The only annoying feature I can find is the remote control, as it only allows you to trigger the shutter. The remote on the C50 allows you to operate the zoom lens and also page through the images (when replaying on the TV). When I ...
