Opinion: I bought the Olympus FE-4000 recently as I needed a simple point and shoot.
A slim good looking camera, with impressive specs. I couldnt believe what a bargain I had scored. That is, I'm sorry to say until I switched it on.

Problems: My main problem was with pretty extreme shutter lag.
I found that it was even slower with the flash turned on.
Another issue I had was with the flash. On all flash settings the flash would go twice, causing most of the subjects of my photos, especially children to have their eyes cloesd.
On night portrait mode, the flash over-exposes faces, leaving them bright white.
And, compared to other cameras i own, I found the colours to be dull.

It is an attractive, cheap camera, but it didnt meet my standards.
