I got this camera a year ago. I was just looking for a little, pocket-sized, walk-around snapshot camera to replace my older and bulkier Minolta point-and-shoot. So expectations were not high. Even so, this camera really disappoints. The Image Stabilization is non-existant. I don't have a very steady hand and about half my photos come out blurred, even with IS on. The red-eye reduction also does not seem to work. I took a photo at a restaurant, with the red-eye and IS turned on and ...

I bought this camera, because my Canon Powershot S50 had not all features I wanted. For instance, the macro-function (50 cm) could have been better. The Olympus is a nice, very compact camera. It doesn't weigh a lot, and it has lots of possibilities. I discovered, that it needed some time to learn, how to use the camera correctly. In other reviews, I missed this fact. Many people seem to avoid learning by doing and give there verdict too soon! I made lots of great pictures. Some of them I ...

Since I was a kid, I've been using the Olympus half frame camera (70's) - you know those compact 135's that made a 36 shot roll into 72+. Good for the all around daily household or family shots whose prints go into an album. The half frame does not allow much enlargements. I think the FE 190 currently fulfills this role, too, and the limitations that go are just fine with me. By the way, that compact half frame still works right until now - 40 years! Hope the FE 190 lasts the same. Problems: ...

Picture quality is CRAP! I bought this camera for my son for christmas to stop him using my Sony DSC W5. When he complained about picture quality i decided to compare a number of different photos with both cameras set to fully auto. The difference is incredible despite the Sony only being 5 MP it is far superior to the Olympus - in fact i believe my old Sony 2MP would have taken better photos than the olympus. I took the camera back to the store where i bought it and asked them to send it ...

Bought this camera few days ago and I cant say im totally satisfied with it. It looks good, its small, quick and easy to use. But image quality is poor!! Outdoor images and indoor images with flash have a lot of chromatic aberration. If you cant use flash indoor you can still take images in image stabilization mode.. but they are very noisy and also detail is lost + chromatic aberration. Problems: Noisy images on higher ISOs, with loss of detail (image stabilization mode) Chromatic aberration ...
