I’ve had the camera about a year and have taken thousands of photos. I take the camera everywhere, I even took it up to the top of Devils Tower. I’ve abused it, dropped it, exposed it to harsh weather conditions (I live in Minnesota) and it still keeps working. Get a card reader and NiMH batteries, I use the camera for two weeks before change batteries. Both reader and batteries can be bought for about 20 bucks each. This by no means the end all camera, this is snap shot ...

Short version: Bought camera, locked up after 1 month of use. I sent it in for repair, they did not fix it. I send it again and they say nothing is wrong with it. It works for 1 week then locks up again. I send it back for a 3rd time. They keep it at least 2 months, then UPS loses it. They replace the camera with a "refurbished" one. What a crock! Camera has worked fine since. Problems: Support is a nightmare. No USB. Small Smartmedia card included.

Have had camera for a year and taken a thousand pics or so. Works great with re-chrg. batts/ 4 in cam & 4 extra USB card reader works great! Problems: Wish I would have looked closer and noticed that the Quicktime movie mode doesn't include sound. The newest version of this camera includes a mic & usb port!

Don't buy an AC adapter. I use rechargeable NiMh batteries (2 sets) And a smartcard reader. Never use serial port. Absolutely no battery problem. And I take a LOT of pictures!! Great camera!! Problems: Always buying more smartmedia cards

AC Power Adapter appears to be a must for transferring by the serial cable. My dealer doesn't sell the Olympus one. Can a universal adapter be used? If so, What voltage and polarity? A previous reviewer mentioned connecting up an external battery, what type? Apart from there being no AC adapter, USB port and a pathetic 8mb card, it's a great little camera Problems: Only as above

I had this camera for almost a year and I took thousand of pictures, I am very happy with the camera, only in poor light conditions the performance is low the focus do not work properlly and the backgrounds are too dark. I think that for the money is an excellent buy and for the regular point and shoot person it is outstanding. Problems: once the camera did not recognice the card. I sent it to Olympus they performed an overhaul and gave and extra six months warranty

Used this camera at work for about 3 months. It was my first digitial camera so it is hard to compare with other cameras. It seemed like a great camera except for the two exceptions noted below. Problems: 1) Serial transfer to PC is very slow; newer models have USB. With big pics, you can spend 10 minutes moving pics to your PC 2) LCD is impossible to use in bright light. I think this is a problem with lots of cameras, not just this one.
