Opinion: I just want add the last comment for this camera which I have used it for 5 excellent years before my son drop it and broke the lense. Currently I own Canan SX10iS and i give some comparison between these two.
Oly 750UZ Despite only have the 3.9 MP the image quality are much better then the current Canon Sx10iS as it has larger sensor and 50 ISO setting.Which basically noise free at crop. The marro image dept of field are better when taking close up on flower as it has 38mm compare with canon 28mm.
I often shoot the night scene in ISO50 and basically noice free and the print came out great.
Overall this is a great camera to owned and it did it job well.
Problems: Only issues on this camera is the focus in the low light and terible movie quality.
The reason I switch to canon is the lense broken due to accident and The new UZ series in 2009 still have bad focus issues at low light.
Opinion: This camera can do great photos most of the time especially extreme close ups. Ease of use and its features are easy to familiarize, but this cam also have a high power consumption downside.
Opinion: I owned this camera for more than 3 years and I have no intention to sell it, because its picture quality is so good! I have owned D50 already, but in respect to easy to use, handy, long range, picture quality.......C750 is my best partner. I often use it rather than my D50. C750 is no need to do any post editing work to the photo, but D50 does so. I also need to mention its macro picture is very good as well.
Problems: No! But I have to mention the A,S,M function is rather inconvenient.
Opinion: I've enjoyed the C750 alot. I'm considering getting some medium format equipment and will be glad I have this as a backup provider of quality snapshots and other quality shots as well. I've done long exposures with this that I was very happy with. I got the extender and a quick charge battery charger accessory because I heard the battery life isn't the best and it does run out on you pretty abruptly, though if you don't use the flash much I guess you get pretty good life out of the four nicad rechargeables. This is my first digital so I'm not sure about battery life in other cameras, except a friend of mine said hers has lasted for YEARS! I want one of those cameras, or batteries!
I also got a lens extension so I can put filters on it. People who see it think it looks like more camera than it is, but I'm beginning to believe them. It really does take nice pictures. some that i've posted are scans, but many are taken with the olympus and thev've all been reduced in size, but you can see some at http://www.flickr.com/photos/zurch/
I don't like the fact that you can't just plug in the camera to recharge it. It also has an internal batttery. Mine needs replacing so everytime I change the batteries i have to plug it in so all the setting don't reset to factory defaults, which is totally annoying. If the battery does run out, then it also resets to factory defaults, with shutter sound on, some fancy screen that pops up wheh you turn it on with some windoes-type start-up song that plays.
Opinion: I have hammered this camera for 2 years now and really like it. I use a monopod at 10x zoom and the pictures are sharp and the colors are good.It is my favorite camera- I rarely use my Canon 350 D and my Oly 720-SW. The C-750-UZ just fits my needs perfectly, so I'll just have to hope the SP-510-UZ I have just purchased will be as good or better.
Opinion: Very good camera for it's time.
Opinion: I purchased this camera in Sept 2003. I took it to the mountains for scenic contrasty pictures in October 03. I think this camera was a huge disappointment to me because of the terrible bluish flare it exhibited in almost all my photos. Further the blue flare appeared in enlargements that was not so noticeable in the smaller images. I had dust on my finder indicating that the camera is not properly sealed from normal dust in mountainous conditions. I did not find the flash arrangement to be very good either. No more Olympus for me in digital cameras!
Problems: See some of the above. Further I found that none of these cameras were actually made in Japan. Mine was made in mainland China which was very disappointing to me for the price that I paid. (over $500). Some are made in Korea and Thailand to my knowledge. I had to send my camera in to Olympus for cleaning out my finder and further calibration. To get to the settings inside the camera was difficult and time consuming. The lens cap is useless and awkward to use. The lens is not threaded for a filter or a lens hood. If ever a lens needed a filter and a lens hood this would be it.
Opinion: Updated my computer and lost my Camedia Master 4.1x software having problems finding inorder to restore. The camera is very easy to operate. Produces a great photo.
Problems: In taking grandchildrens photo's the shutter speed is too slow. Having problems with some blurred photo's at close range.
Opinion: Good crisp images.
Problems: Really slow focusing both indoor/outdoor
