Opinion: I picked up this camera at Sears a year & 1/2 ago for $240. I also bought a 2x tele converter for another $40 including the tube extension. I used this camera primarily when i need the telephoto. To minimize blurred shots at telephoto, i set the menu switch to sport mode which increases the shutter speed and have had no problems. Great camera, good pictures and even has a TIFF mode for taking pics with no compression.

Problems: Slow start up and a bit bulky. I wish there was a case with straps that made it easier to carry.

Opinion: just bought several days ago, 2nd hand at HK$1000, still in very good condition.
the 10x zoom is great at daytime, the quality of photos is still very charming.
i love it..

Problems: you've better use camera stand when the target is 10x zoom.
there is lot of noise up to iso 400, especially when light is not enough.

Opinion: I have had my C-700 UZ for 18 months. I love the camera. I have taken 1000's of shots on the med resolution and am overall very satisified with my pictures. I purchased a 128mb smart media card right away, and have filled it up plus some on a 64mb sm card, all using the same set of CR-V3 batteries which in my opinion last the best. After orginally trying to figure out how to get them downloaded onto my computer, I have never had another problem downloading.

I purchased this camera for the 10x optical zoom, which I use extensively. I travel for a living and this camera is of perfect weight and size for ease in carrying. I only wish they would make a case to specifically fit this camera for easier carrying.

I took a fall when in Cancun on vacation in april, with my C-700 landing between me and the sidewalk. The camera had a couple gouges/scratches but keeps on ticking perfectly. Actually, the camera saved me from getting external lacerations (the internal bruising bothered me for a couple weeks though).

Although this camera has lots of manual options, I have never played with it to figure them out. I am sure once I finally do, I will enjoy this camera much more.

I have my cancun pictures posted on webshots at http://community.webshots.com/user/misunrulyjulie taking the "newest" link to go directly to them. These are the only pictures in this url that were taken with this camera, the others are film cameras and the underwater pictures are taken with an underwater digital camera. I have some pictures taken in Las Vegas at
http://community.webshots.com/user/misunruly. Tell me how you like my pictures by using the guestbook.

Problems: Yes I get the chromatic aberration (purple lines around objects) in bright light. The focusing takes a bit long in lower lit situations, too slow to catch anthing moving without a blurred shot.

I couldn't get the 3x tele lens to work without seeing the expansion tube shaft in every shot. With the fisheye lens on the expansion tube, the camera will not focus. These two lenses were bought in an upgrade kit specifically for this camera.

Opinion: I've had this camera for a good while now and I can honestly say that it is one of the best cameras I have tested and own. I love the fact that I have full control of nearly all the settings and features this camera has to offer.

Problems: The main issue I have with the camera is the inability of the camera to take decent quality pictures in certain dim lighting conditions where the flash will actually hurt the image rather than help at times.

Opinion: I received the C700 as a gift for Christmas last year. I have shot family, graduation, friends of family in the thousands. I was able to shoot a full graduation ceremony with one set of NIMH 1800 with a mix of HQ and SHQ. I was located at the top of the grandstands and with the aide of a rest got shots with the 10X that were amazing. Original price was $600. Just recently celebrated the retirement of a co-worker, we picked up a refurbished C700 for $200 he has shot 100's of digitals. We upgraded the camera with NIMH & charger and 128 Smart Card, he is a happy camper.. looking for additional units...

Problems: On my C-700 it appears to have collected debris on the inside of the lens. Running that question by tech staff. I use the Camera heavily in dusty environments as a work tool, very sturdy otherwise.
